Nintendo of Canada announced a price change for the original Nintendo Switch family and related products in Canada on June 30, 2025. A report published August 1 listed increases for consoles, controllers and selected games. These are reported Canadian-dollar prices from 2025—not a verified October 2026 price list.
Which Nintendo products were included?
Nintendo said the Canadian price changes applied to the original Switch family: the Switch OLED Model, standard Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite. The affected categories also included physical and digital Switch games, accessories, amiibo and Nintendo Switch Online memberships. Nintendo said the changes were based on “market conditions,” without naming a more specific cause. Nintendo’s June 30, 2025 notice said it would share Canadian pricing information on August 1.
The same notice explicitly excluded Switch 2 hardware, accessories and software from this particular update. It should not be read as a statement about any later Switch 2 pricing changes.
Reported Canadian prices before and after the change
The following examples were published by TVA Nouvelles/Pèse sur start on August 1, 2025. They are reported prices, not a complete official catalogue or a quote for what an item costs today. All amounts are Canadian dollars.

Nintendo attributed the change to “market conditions.” Its notice did not specify whether tariffs, currency movements, production costs or another factor drove the update, so the announcement alone does not establish a more detailed explanation.
