Nintendo Switch 2 Restocks: Official Prices, Resale Markups and How to Avoid Costly Mistakes

For US shoppers, Nintendo lists Switch 2 bundles at $529.99 and $549.99, but those offers do not guarantee a retailer has stock today. A September 2026 report found eBay asking prices of $850 or more for the Zelda 40th Anniversary edition, compared with a reported official price of $520. Those were listing asks, not verified sale prices or a market average. Check the seller, total price, bundle contents and delivery timing before paying a premium.

What Switch 2 prices and availability are established?

Nintendo of America’s retail-offers page lists two bundles: the Nintendo Switch 2 with Mario Kart World for $549.99, and the Nintendo Switch 2 with Nintendo Switch Sports Resort for $529.99. Nintendo says offers are available while supplies last and savings may vary. The Sports Resort bundle is shown as available October 22, 2026. These are offer-page details, not confirmation that every named retailer has inventory or that either bundle is available for immediate delivery. Nintendo’s US retail offers

The clearest reported example of a steep resale markup concerns a specific product, not every Switch 2: GamesRadar+ reported on September 11, 2026, that eBay listings for the Zelda 40th Anniversary console asked $850 or more, against a reported official-retailer price of $520. An asking price does not show what buyers actually paid. The available evidence does not establish a representative resale premium, the share of consoles bought by scalpers, or a series of completed transactions. GamesRadar+’s report on the Zelda edition

Why a restock notice does not give a restock date

In its September 11 report, GamesRadar+ said the Nintendo Store UK and Ireland listing for the Zelda anniversary product displayed: “The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary collection is currently sold out. We will announce when stock is replenished via the Nintendo Store app.” That is a notification channel, not a timetable. The same report said the US listing was sold out at the time but did not show the same banner. These were dated observations about one edition; they do not establish current availability or a future restock date in either region.

Do not infer that all Switch 2 consoles are scarce—or easy to buy—from a special-edition listing. Nintendo reported cumulative sales of 23.68 million Switch 2 hardware units and 58.17 million software units as of June 30, 2026. Those company-reported totals show substantial sales, but say nothing definitive about local store inventory or the supply of a particular edition. Nintendo’s hardware and software sales data

How to check an offer before you buy

  1. Start with the exact product. Decide whether you want a standalone console, a standard bundle, or a special edition. Compare what is included; a higher bundle price is not automatically a better deal, and Nintendo says savings may vary.
  2. Confirm who is selling it. On a retailer or marketplace page, distinguish the retailer itself from a third-party marketplace seller. Read the seller name and fulfillment details rather than relying on the site’s brand or the product headline.
  3. Check the full cost and timing. Compare the checkout total, including shipping and any stated fees, with the offer price. Verify whether the item is in stock, when it is expected to ship, and whether the listing is for the console or a bundle.
  4. Match the region and currency. Confirm that the product and offer are for your country and that the price is in the currency you expect. Do not compare a foreign price directly with a US-dollar offer without accounting for region and terms.
  5. Use a price premium deliberately. If a marketplace listing is far above an official offer, treat the difference as a premium you are choosing to pay—not proof of the console’s market value. If the product is not urgent, compare again after checking official and local retailer listings.

Nintendo’s offer page names participating retailers, but it does not provide a live inventory count for each one. Confirm availability on the retailer’s own current listing before traveling or placing an order. Nintendo’s US retail offers

New, used and refurbished purchases have different trade-offs

A lower used price can come with less protection. Nintendo says products bought on the secondhand market do not carry a Nintendo hardware or accessory warranty. Its support page describes Nintendo’s US and Canada refurbished selection, but does not establish that a refurbished Switch 2 is currently available. Check the exact item’s condition, seller return terms and warranty coverage rather than assuming that “refurbished” means Nintendo-backed. Nintendo refurbished products and warranty information

Availability and prices differ by region

Figures reported outside the United States are country-specific and should not be treated as a global Switch 2 price. GamesRadar+ reported post-September 1, 2026 prices of AU$769.95 in Australia and NZ$969.95 in New Zealand. The report described stock as generally available at several Australian retailers, while noting local outlet variation. Those are dated secondary-reported prices and availability observations; check a local retailer for a current offer. GamesRadar+ on Australian and New Zealand pricing
