No Nintendo Switch 2 preorder available today comes with a guaranteed launch-day delivery promise. The console launched on June 5, 2025, so that original preorder window is closed. Nintendo does not publish one worldwide delivery guarantee. Its wording varies by country, and every promise depends on the product, the order date, and the delivery address. The only new Switch 2 offer announced for 2026 is a Japan-only bundle due November 12, 2026.
Why the original launch-day offers no longer apply
Launch-day delivery was a time-limited promotion tied to the June 5, 2025 release. Readers searching for it now will find only historical statements. In the United States, Nintendo’s My Nintendo Store warned during the launch period that delivery by June 5 was not guaranteed. The Associated Press reported the same caveat alongside Walmart’s statement that its 2025 Switch 2 preorders were to be delivered by launch day. That was Walmart’s offer for that launch, not a standing guarantee for any later order.

In Australia and New Zealand, Nintendo advertised release-day delivery only for eligible purchases placed before its May 20, 2025 deadline. Those orders are no longer available on that basis.
What “guaranteed” means in Nintendo’s own wording
Before comparing sellers, separate three kinds of date that are often treated as the same thing:

- The next evolution of Nintendo Switch
- One system, three play modes: TV, Tabletop, and Handheld
- Larger, vivid, 7.9” LCD touch screen with support for HDR and up to 120 fps
- Dock that supports 4K when connected to a compatible TV*
- GameChat** lets you voice chat, share your game screen, and connect via video chat as you play
- Dispatch date: the day the seller ships the item. Nintendo’s UK and European wording describes release-day preorders as dispatched for delivery on the release date, which is not the same as arrival.
- Estimated arrival: a projected delivery day. Nintendo’s Australian announcement described release-day delivery as expected, not promised.
- Stated arrival promise: a specific arrival date printed on the product or checkout page, with its conditions. Only this type of date should be treated as a delivery commitment, and even then it is subject to the exceptions listed on that page.
The Australian announcement put the caveat directly into its wording: “Pre-purchases of Nintendo Switch 2 are expected to be delivered to your provided address on the release day; however, delays may occur in some instances.” That sentence describes an expectation, not a guarantee.
Current Nintendo delivery terms by region
Nintendo’s regional pages do not use the same language, so a delivery promise in one country cannot be assumed in another. The table below summarizes what each official source states and what it does not say.

| Region and source | What is stated | Launch-day arrival promise? |
|---|---|---|
| United States, Nintendo Store (Nintendo Support guidance) | Physical pre-purchases are charged immediately and ship 1–3 business days after the release date. | No. The published guidance describes shipping timing after release, not arrival on release day. |
| United States, Nintendo Store (launch period, 2025) | Delivery by June 5, 2025 was not guaranteed. | No. The launch-period warning explicitly removed the promise. |
| United Kingdom and listed European countries, Nintendo Store | Physical preorder products are dispatched for delivery on release dates. Listed countries are Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Luxembourg, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. | Dispatch on release date is stated. Arrival timing after dispatch varies by delivery service and destination, so confirm the terms at checkout. |
| Japan, Nintendo Store | Orders placed within the period that permits arrival by release day are planned to ship the preceding day. The product page states the arrival date. Remote islands and some other areas are excluded. | Conditional. It is a shipping plan tied to the order window and the delivery area, not an unconditional promise. |
| Australia and New Zealand, My Nintendo Store (2025 offer) | Release-day delivery for eligible purchases made by May 20, 2025. The footnote said delays could occur. | Historical only. The offer has ended. |
| US retailers, 2025 launch (Walmart, as reported by AP) | Walmart said its 2025 Switch 2 preorders were to be delivered by launch day. | Historical only. It applied to that launch offer. |

The Japan-only Choose-Your-Game Bundle
Nintendo announced a Japan-only Nintendo Switch 2 Choose-Your-Game Bundle on October 6, 2026. It is scheduled for release on November 12, 2026, at 63,980 yen including tax. The announcement gives the date and package details. It does not name preorder retailers, stock levels, or a delivery guarantee for release day. Because this bundle is not yet on sale as of October 8, 2026, any preorder you find should be checked against the Japan terms described above before you pay.

How to check a preorder’s delivery promise before paying
- Confirm the country on the seller’s page. Nintendo’s delivery terms differ by country, and the same product can carry different conditions in each store.
- Find the arrival date, not just the shipping or dispatch date. On Nintendo’s Japan product pages, the arrival date is stated on the page itself.
- Check the order cutoff. In Japan, the release-day shipping plan applies only to orders placed within the eligible window.
- Enter your exact delivery address before the final step. Remote islands and some other areas are excluded in Japan, and destination rules can differ elsewhere.
- Read the exception language on the checkout or product page. Look for wording such as “expected,” “estimated,” or “may be delayed,” which means the date is not a commitment.
- Screenshot the page and the order confirmation. The confirmation should show the arrival terms you accepted, which is useful if the order changes.
If a preorder does not arrive on the stated date
- Check the order status for a carrier tracking number. A dispatch confirmation with no tracking update usually means the parcel has not left the seller yet.
- Contact the seller’s support team and cite the exact arrival wording from the product or checkout page.
- If the seller’s stated delivery date passes without delivery, ask whether the order is delayed or cancelled, and request written confirmation of the new date.
- Keep the payment record. Pre-purchases are often charged at order time, so a refund request may be needed if the order cannot be fulfilled.
Which preorder terms to trust
Trust only the arrival date printed on a current seller page for your address, and only when the terms are stated without qualifiers. Treat historical launch promises, dispatch dates, and general shipping speeds as background, not as delivery guarantees. For the November 12, 2026 Japan bundle, the release date is confirmed by Nintendo, but retailer availability and delivery terms must be checked on the live listing when it opens.
For official background, see Nintendo’s own store pages for your country and the Nintendo announcement of the Japan bundle dated October 6, 2026.
The Nintendo Switch 2 console remains available on a regional basis only through sellers that publish current terms, so check the listing rather than relying on the 2025 launch offers.
