There is no single worldwide My Nintendo Store invitation process for Nintendo Switch 2. The Australia/New Zealand invitation campaign described by Nintendo in April 2025 has ended, while Japan has a separate invite-only listing for a Japan-only console model. Check the My Nintendo Store and Nintendo announcements for your own country for any current offer; the available information here does not establish a live application that applies worldwide.
Start with your country’s My Nintendo Store
Invitation rules are regional, not a universal Nintendo Switch 2 signup checklist. Account country, delivery address, selection method, deadlines and the console model can all differ. An old eligibility rule or invite for one country does not establish eligibility in another.

Australia and New Zealand: the 2025 campaign has ended
Nintendo Australia announced a three-round opportunity on April 7, 2025, for eligible Nintendo Account holders in Australia and New Zealand to register interest in pre-purchasing a Nintendo Switch 2 or a Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle. Registration opened April 9. The registration deadlines and associated purchase windows have all passed. Nintendo Australia’s announcement and campaign terms contain the original details.

- GameChat** lets you voice chat, share your game screen, and connect via video chat as you play
Who qualified under the historical terms
For that campaign, a registrant had to meet every listed condition:
- Be resident in Australia or New Zealand, have a Nintendo Account set to the corresponding country, and have a valid delivery address there.
- Have been the purchaser of a paid Nintendo Switch Online Individual or Family membership for at least one year in total.
- Have more than 50 hours of qualifying Nintendo Switch gameplay recorded by 23:59 UTC on February 28, 2025. Nintendo required Usage Information sharing to be set to “Allowed”; free software did not count toward the gameplay test.
- Be the purchaser of an active paid Nintendo Switch Online membership both when registering and when making the pre-purchase. Free trials did not count toward the membership requirements.
How the three rounds worked
Eligible people could express interest in both purchase options, but could be selected for only one. The purchase limit was one console per customer. Nintendo notified selected registrants by email; missing the assigned purchase period meant forfeiting that opportunity. People not selected in an earlier round could be considered in a later applicable round.

Japan: a separate invite-only, Japan-only model
Nintendo Japan’s My Nintendo Store listing is for “Nintendo Switch 2 (Japanese-language, Japan-only).” It says that only people who received an invitation through that store’s invitation sale may buy the product, and that only Nintendo Accounts with country/region set to Japan can link to that model. The listing is not an international invitation route, and the Australia/New Zealand campaign criteria do not establish eligibility in Japan. See the Japanese My Nintendo Store product listing for its current terms.

Does “pre-order” mean the same thing for a console and a game?
Nintendo of America distinguishes physical-item “pre-purchases” through Nintendo Store from digital game “pre-orders” on Nintendo eShop. Its support guidance says physical pre-purchases are charged in full immediately and ship 1–3 business days after release. Digital game pre-orders have separate payment timing. This is U.S. support guidance, not a promise about payment or delivery from every regional My Nintendo Store. Check the terms shown by your local store before placing an order. What to do if you missed an invite or see a third-party offer
If you missed the expired Australia/New Zealand campaign, its deadlines cannot be used to claim a purchase opportunity. Look for a new announcement or current product listing from Nintendo in your region instead; no current worldwide application is established here.
A retail listing elsewhere is a separate purchase route, not a way to obtain a My Nintendo Store invitation or qualify for selection. Confirm the console’s language and regional compatibility before buying, especially if the listing is for a model designated Japan-only.
