The company said his more than 20 years in finance and technology, including public- and private-company SaaS experience, would help support long-term value creation during Bloomreach’s next growth phase.
What Bloomreach announced
The appointment was a move from Amplitude to Bloomreach, not an internal promotion. In its May 16, 2023 announcement, Bloomreach described Sarkis as its new CFO and connected the hire with sustainable value creation and continued growth.

| Date and dateline | May 16, 2023, Mountain View, California |

| Previous employer | Amplitude |
| Company-stated rationale | Support long-term value creation and Bloomreach’s next phase of growth |
Sarkis’s background
Bloomreach said Sarkis brought more than 20 years of financial and technology-sector experience. His background included operational and advisory work with technology companies, as well as public and private SaaS businesses.
- Chief accounting officer at Amplitude.
- Partner at PwC.
- Experience involving corporate transformations, initial public offerings, debt and equity raises, and mergers and acquisitions.
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering from University College London.
- Chartered accountancy qualification and California CPA qualification.
The company also credited him with experience supporting Amplitude through growth, a direct public listing, a financing raise and an acquisition. Those descriptions come from Bloomreach’s announcement and do not make him Amplitude’s CFO.

His Amplitude role was chief accounting officer, not CFO
Amplitude’s April 5, 2023 Form 8-K filing identified Sarkis as chief accounting officer and principal accounting officer. The filing said he resigned to pursue another opportunity and expected his final day to be approximately May 10, 2023. Bloomreach’s appointment announcement followed six days later.
That distinction matters: chief accounting officers generally oversee accounting and reporting functions, while a CFO typically has broader responsibility for financial strategy, planning, capital decisions and, depending on the company, legal or investor-facing matters.
Why his experience was relevant to Bloomreach
For a scaling SaaS company, experience across public-company controls and private-company growth can be useful in several ways:
Public-company discipline
Work around a public listing can provide familiarity with reporting timetables, internal controls, governance and investor-facing processes.

Capital and transaction experience
Fundraising, acquisitions, debt and equity transactions and IPO preparation are relevant capabilities when a company evaluates strategic alternatives. They do not, by themselves, establish that Bloomreach was preparing an IPO, acquisition or financing.
Operational scaling
Experience in high-growth software businesses can help a finance leader build planning, measurement and risk processes as an organization expands. Bloomreach’s release did not disclose specific targets, systems changes or a timetable for those activities.

What Bloomreach and Sarkis said
Bloomreach co-founder and CEO Raj De Datta said Sarkis’s ability to create sustainable value for SaaS businesses was important to the company and linked the appointment to Bloomreach’s continued investment in artificial intelligence and growth momentum. Those are management’s statements, not independently verified performance conclusions.
Sarkis said he was impressed by Bloomreach’s market potential and growth, viewed the period as important for ecommerce, and looked forward to working with the team on the company’s strategy. The announcement did not specify product, revenue, hiring or financing commitments.

Bloomreach’s business context in 2023
In the announcement, Bloomreach described its commerce-experience software around three areas:
- Discovery: AI-driven search and merchandising.
- Content: Headless content-management capabilities.
- Engagement: Customer-data, customer-data-platform and marketing-automation functionality.
The release presented these products as a combined approach to customer and product data, personalization and digital-commerce growth. Product positioning can change, so these descriptions should be read as the company’s 2023 framing.
What can—and cannot—be inferred from the hire
The appointment supports a reasonable interpretation that Bloomreach wanted senior financial leadership experienced with SaaS scale, governance and transactions. It does not prove an imminent public offering, acquisition, capital raise, profitability milestone or change in valuation. The announcement provided no revenue, cash, margin or other financial targets.
Current status
As of August 18, 2026, Bloomreach’s leadership page listed Sarkis as chief financial officer and said he was responsible for the company’s financial strategy and legal function. That is the latest first-party status reflected here; it should not be treated as confirmation of his position after that page-access date without newer company or regulatory documentation.
