RYSE Supplements says it launched shortly before Black Friday in November 2017 with a small lineup of pre-workout, BCAA + EAA, and capsule products. Founder Nicholas Stella describes the early business as a high-risk venture funded by his savings; the company’s later story is one of added product lines, retail expansion, licensed flavors, and a move into canned energy drinks. Those milestones come from RYSE’s own history and Stella’s account—not independent financial reporting.
How did Nicholas Stella start RYSE Supplements?
RYSE’s official company history says the brand launched a few days before Black Friday in November 2017. Its initial range included two pre-workout flavors, BCAA + EAA, and capsule products.
In a 2025 LinkedIn post, Stella said he left a corporate job after about a year and a half and faced tight margins in the early business. He recalled wiring his last $81,000 for an order ahead of the launch, then said the products sold out and the company grew by more than 800% that year. These are Stella’s reported figures, not audited results. He also wrote: “I put everything on the line, my savings, my future, even my sanity to build one of the fastest growing supplement companies in the world.” The growth description is his characterization.
How did RYSE grow from a small supplement brand?
RYSE’s timeline traces expansion across products and sales channels. Its account shows a shift from an initial supplement range toward broader retail distribution and, later, ready-to-drink products and energy drinks.

The company’s founder statement sums up its stated approach: “We don’t sell shortcuts; we just make the long road ahead as productive as possible.” That is a brand philosophy, rather than evidence of a particular financial result.

The product families represented in RYSE’s company materials include protein powder, pre-workout, BCAA + EAA, capsules, creatine, hydration sticks, ready-to-drink protein and pre-workout, and canned energy drinks. Loaded Protein is among the recurring powder lines in the company history.

RYSE also features licensed flavors, including collaborations with Sour Punch, Little Debbie, and Skippy, according to its official FAQ. The company says it works with licensors to represent those brands in flavor form. A licensed flavor partnership does not, by itself, establish a broader corporate partnership or ownership relationship.
How did RYSE get into energy drinks?
The timeline presents energy as an expansion of the brand, not a replacement for its supplement business. RYSE describes a substantial RYSE FUEL push in 2023 and says that in 2024 FUEL became the official energy drink of the Dallas Stars and Dallas Mavericks. The same 2024 account identifies Target nationwide and a larger Walmart assortment as retail milestones, alongside new ready-to-drink protein and pre-workout products.

Because the company dates these events to 2024, they should be read as historical claims. They do not establish that a particular flavor is currently stocked at a retailer or that a sports sponsorship remains active.

The documented company history supports a story of expansion: RYSE says it broadened its categories, entered additional retail channels, used licensed flavors, and moved into energy drinks. Stella’s account adds a personal narrative of financial risk and an early sellout. But the available sources do not establish audited revenue, market share, valuation, or an industry-wide ranking.
