NEXTPredict co-founder and managing director Pierre Lindh says the audience interested in prediction-market stories is much larger than the specialist iGaming readership he knew—and that it lacked serious journalism aimed at general readers. His “enormous audience” description is a view, not a measured count of potential readers. NEXTPredict is the media, research and conference brand his team created to serve the prediction-markets industry.
What did Pierre Lindh mean by “nobody was serving” the audience?
In an August 27, 2026 interview, Lindh described a gap between specialist trade coverage and public interest in prediction markets. He said stories about the sector could matter to ordinary readers, while much iGaming coverage was aimed at a relatively narrow professional audience. His statement that “nobody was serving” the larger audience referred to serious journalism for people interested in prediction-market stories—not to a lack of prediction-market platforms, traders or users.
Lindh put it this way: “That audience is enormous compared to ours, and nobody was serving it with real journalistic standards.” The comparison was with the audience for iGaming trade coverage familiar to him. The available sources do not provide an independent count of people seeking general-interest prediction-market journalism.
What is NEXTPredict?
NEXTPredict describes itself as a dedicated media and conference brand for the prediction-markets industry. It identifies three main activities: a news portal, a professional summit, and original research and data analysis. The organization says it was created by the team behind NEXT.io, its iGaming media and events business.
#1 Best Overall
Its stated professional audience spans platform operators, institutional traders and market makers, investors and venture capital firms, regulators and policymakers, legal and compliance professionals, infrastructure builders, and media. The company says it approaches prediction markets through a financial lens and aims to provide independent journalism and a place for industry stakeholders to meet. Those are NEXTPredict’s own descriptions of its positioning.
Why did the team launch it?
Lindh said the team saw both a shift in where the industry was looking for growth, including emerging products such as prediction markets, and a shortage of accessible, serious reporting. To test interest, he said, the team produced a 55-page report that received around 1,500 downloads. That figure is Lindh’s account in the interview; it is not an independently audited circulation measure or proof of ongoing readership.
Rank #2
He also described a need for people shaping the sector to meet: “The industry was being formed and the people forming it had never sat in a room together”. He said the event program had to balance public-facing stories with the professional agenda of its delegates: “The story that gets us on air is not the story our delegates are paying to be in the room for, and both have to be true at the same time.”
What do market figures say—and what don’t they say?
Figures about trading, platform activity or survey respondents can indicate interest in prediction markets, but they do not measure the audience for NEXTPredict’s journalism. These measures use different definitions and should not be added together or treated as equivalent.

| About 283,300 monthly active users, down from a spring peak above 750,000 | Token Terminal figures reported by Decrypt on October 5, 2026. Decrypt describes the metric as unique addresses making a revenue-generating transaction; it is a platform-activity measure, not a count of people who want news coverage. |
| 3 million new users and more than $1.2 billion traded on a 2026 World Cup winner contract | Kalshi figures reported by Decrypt on October 5, 2026. The report says match-day volumes exceeded non-match-day volumes. These are company-reported platform activity figures, not a count of readers or category-wide potential customers. |
| 22% to 27% | Langston Co.’s projected share of crypto traders using prediction markets, as reported secondhand by Decrypt on October 5, 2026. This is a survey projection, not an audience census. |
| $13.76 billion in Polymarket trades; 3% of accounts took roughly 27% of dollar profits | A working paper’s findings as summarized by Decrypt on October 5, 2026. They describe trading and profit concentration within the paper’s dataset, not the size of the news audience. |
The important distinction is between public visibility, platform users or transactions, survey responses, and people who read or follow coverage. The cited figures do not establish one defensible total for the broader audience Lindh described.

NEXT.io announced NEXTPredict NYC for October 22–23, 2026, at Hudson Yards in New York. Its announcement said the event was expected to bring 2,500 delegates, including operators, investors, founders, regulators and media leaders. As of October 7, 2026, those dates and attendance figures describe an upcoming event and a plan, not completed results. Decrypt reported on October 5 that working journalists from CNBC and CNN had been added to a program with exchange and industry participants.
The event is positioned around market structure, regulation, capital, products and industry relationships. Lindh told PredictCentr that the timing before the U.S. midterm elections could draw media attention, while saying most of the agenda would focus on market structure.
