Netflix announced lower prices across its Indian plans on December 14, 2021. Compared with the rates when the Mobile plan launched in 2019, the revised rates were:

The percentage reductions are calculated from the earlier and revised rates. Netflix’s December 2021 announcement set out the new prices; they are not evidence of a fresh 2026 cut. Netflix introduced the Mobile plan at ₹199 in 2019, alongside the then-listed Basic, Standard and Premium rates, in its India Mobile plan announcement.
What each plan offers—and who should choose it
Mobile: ₹149 per month
Mobile is listed at 480p for phone or tablet viewing. Choose it if you watch on those devices and accept standard-definition picture quality. The official plan display does not list laptop or TV access for this tier.

Basic: ₹199 per month
Basic is listed at 720p and supports phones, tablets, laptops and TVs. It costs ₹50 more per month than Mobile, making it worth considering if you want the option to watch on a laptop or television. The trade-off is 720p rather than the higher resolutions in the other tiers.

Standard: ₹499 per month
Standard is listed at 1080p and supports the same device categories as Basic. It costs ₹300 more per month, or ₹3,600 more over 12 months at the displayed rates, before any applicable taxes or billing adjustments. That premium is mainly for viewers who value Full HD over 720p.

Premium: ₹649 per month
Premium is listed with 4K + HDR and spatial audio. Those features depend on compatible content, device and application support, and an adequate connection. A 4K-capable setup is where the higher resolution may matter most; on a 1080p television, the extra cost may bring little practical benefit. The public plan display does not establish a current simultaneous-stream limit, so check your account’s plan details if that is important.
How to choose between the plans
- Watch only on a phone or tablet: Mobile is the lowest-priced option if 480p is acceptable.
- Want TV or laptop access at the lowest listed rate: Compare Basic, which is ₹50 more than Mobile and includes those device categories.
- Prefer Full HD: Standard offers 1080p; weigh that against its ₹300 monthly premium over Basic.
- Own compatible 4K/HDR equipment and value that quality: Consider Premium, while checking that the content and connection support the experience.
Check your price, billing and plan before paying
The public prices are not a guarantee that every account’s final charge will be identical. Netflix says members can compare current plans and prices, and its Help Center explains that prices may change. Taxes may apply depending on location; a telecom partner may also administer or bill a bundled subscription.

- Sign in to Netflix and open the account area.
- Open the current plan or plan-details section and use the plan comparison or change control. Labels can vary.
- Review the plan, effective date and next billing amount before confirming a change.
- Check payment history and the account’s billing details after the change. Netflix says these show past charges and billing information, including applicable taxes depending on location.
