Nectere’s Order From Chaos collection launched on Kickstarter in 2025 with three asymmetric mechanical watches: The Dune, The Forest and The Mist. The campaign ran from April 18 to May 23, 2025, raising HK$690,019 from 180 backers against a HK$52,000 goal. As of October 7, 2026, Nectere’s catalog listed all three original models at HK$5,600 each and marked them sold out.
What is the Order From Chaos collection?
Order From Chaos is Nectere’s first watch collection, built around an off-center small-seconds display and an asymmetrical case. The campaign presented the watches as wearable interpretations of chaos theory and the butterfly effect: a reminder that small actions can shape a larger story. The founders described the concept as an “art piece” and a “daily reminder” of life’s decisions in a statement reported by WATCHPRO USA.

The collection’s three original colorways were The Dune, The Forest and The Mist. Kickstarter described each color variant as limited to 175 pieces, a campaign-era claim rather than confirmation of current stock.

Published specifications and winding routine
According to Fratello’s launch coverage, the watches use an asymmetrical stainless-steel case, a domed sapphire crystal and a Seagull ST17 hand-wound movement. The published specifications are:
- Case: 40.5 mm diameter, 38 mm length and 10 mm thick including the domed crystal; 8.5 mm thick without it.
- Display and functions: time-only, with an off-center small-seconds subdial. The dial combines sunburst and engraved textures.
- Movement: hand-wound Seagull ST17, running at 21,600 vibrations per hour with a stated 39-hour power reserve.
- Water resistance: 3 ATM, or 30 m, as published. This rating should not be read as a guarantee that a watch is suitable for swimming or diving.
- Strap: 18 mm leather, with quick-release spring bars.
These are reported product specifications, not independent test results. Nectere’s campaign FAQ says the watch is wound by turning the crown clockwise until it resists; do not force it past that point. With a hand-wound watch, the wearer supplies the winding rather than relying on an automatic rotor.
Campaign pricing versus current catalog listings
Fratello reported a Kickstarter price of US$475 and a regular launch price of US$720. Those are historical 2025 prices, not current offers. They should not be directly compared with the later HK-dollar catalog prices as though they were simultaneous quotes: currencies, timing and availability differ.
At the catalog access date of October 7, 2026, Nectere listed The Dune, The Forest and The Mist for HK$5,600 apiece, all marked sold out. The same catalog showed The Eclipse at HK$6,900. A listing price does not establish that a watch can be ordered, and stock status can change.

The Kickstarter campaign ran for 35 days, from April 18 through May 23, 2025. It closed with 180 backers and HK$690,019 pledged against its HK$52,000 goal. The Kickstarter campaign page records those figures. The South China Morning Post reported on January 15, 2026, that first orders were fulfilled in September 2025 and that production and delivery were complicated by U.S. tariffs; that account does not establish how tariffs affected buyers in other destinations.
The campaign FAQ set out the following terms for campaign backers:
- Warranty: 24 months from shipment for defects. Accidental damage and misuse were excluded.
- Returns: the FAQ said campaign-backed watches were not eligible for refunds or exchanges.
- Shipping and import costs: shipping charges and import fees varied by destination, and applicable customs or import fees were the buyer’s responsibility. For U.S. buyers, the FAQ described a duty-paid process in which the creator would communicate the amount before shipment.
- Production account: the FAQ said the watches were designed in Hong Kong, with components made and assembled in China, and that the founders monitored manufacturing and quality checks. This is the campaign’s account, not an independently audited provenance statement.
These were campaign terms, not necessarily the terms for later catalog purchases. Anyone considering a current order should check the seller’s current warranty, return, shipping and import-fee policies for their destination.
What to consider before buying one secondhand
With the original catalog variants marked sold out as of October 7, 2026, a buyer may encounter a resale listing rather than a new, directly available watch. The published dimensions are more useful than assuming the unusual case wears like a conventional round watch. In Fratello’s subjective wrist impression, it wore more like a 36–37 mm watch; that is an individual impression, not a measured case size.

- Compare the actual 40.5 mm diameter, 38 mm length and case shape with a watch you already know fits comfortably.
- Confirm that the hand-wound routine, stated 39-hour reserve and time-only display suit your preferences.
- Ask for clear photos and documentation of the specific watch, including its condition and any included box, papers or purchase proof. The cited sources do not establish resale-market pricing or the condition of individual listings.
- Check the seller’s return terms and whether any warranty can be transferred; the campaign FAQ’s no-refund rule applied to campaign-backed watches and does not establish the terms of a secondhand sale.
- If replacing the strap, verify both the 18 mm width and attachment fit. Strap width alone does not guarantee compatibility.
