For October 8, 2026, National Bank of Pakistan’s reported US dollar rates were PKR 276.90 for TT buying and PKR 277.40 for TT selling. These are NBP transaction rates reported by Mettis Global, not the interbank market close; Daily Times separately reported an interbank close of PKR 277.02 per dollar on Wednesday.
NBP USD exchange rates on October 8, 2026
Mettis Global reported the following US dollar rates from NBP’s Treasury Management Division ready-transaction bulletin dated October 8, 2026:

TT buying and TT selling are separate sides of the bank’s quoted rate. The bulletin’s stated limitation is that “NBP rates are not valid for transactions over 5,000 USD or equivalent in other currencies (cumulative basis).” Mettis Global also says currencies marked with an asterisk are not available to NBP customers. How the NBP quote differs from the interbank close
Daily Times reported that the rupee appreciated by three paisa in Wednesday trading, closing at PKR 277.02 per dollar compared with PKR 277.05 the previous day. That is an interbank-market close, not NBP’s TT buying or selling quote. The figures describe different rate types and should not be treated as interchangeable. Daily Times

What “narrow range” establishes—and what it does not
The October 8 rate report and the cited interbank update provide specific observations, but not a consistent multi-day series sufficient to calculate or independently verify the rupee’s trading range. The reported three-paisa strengthening is a day-to-day comparison; it does not by itself establish a broader range.

NBP maintains an official rate-sheet index, but the available index result showed sheets only through September 29, 2026, so the exact October 8 PDF was not confirmed there. The October 8 figures above are therefore attributed to Mettis Global’s report of the bulletin, rather than presented as independently verified against that specific official sheet.
