National French Fry Day 2025 fell on Friday, July 11. Several restaurant chains reported limited-time offers, but the deals had different purchase, account, ordering, and location requirements. They have expired and are not available to redeem now.
Which National French Fry Day deals were reported for 2025?
AARP’s July 10, 2025 roundup reported offers from McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, and Arby’s, among other examples. Requirements varied by chain and could include a loyalty account, minimum purchase, app or online order, or a later redemption. The roundup is secondary reporting, so its list should not be treated as exhaustive; exact terms for the examples below are available from the brands’ own announcements or terms.
McDonald’s corporate story also identified the event date as July 11, 2025. These promotions are historical, not current offers.
Shake Shack: free fries with a purchase on July 11
Shake Shack’s official promotion offered a free side of fries with any purchase for qualifying orders fulfilled on July 11, 2025. Customers had to order through the Shack App, shakeshack.com, or an in-Shack kiosk. The offer excluded airports, stadiums, arenas, travel plazas, and museums.

Fatburger announced free Fat or Skinny Fries with a burger or sandwich purchased online using code FryDay25. The offer ran July 9–13, 2025, at participating locations. The announcement specifies an online purchase; it does not establish a broader no-purchase offer.
Why “free fries” could still involve a cost or restrictions
A free side tied to a purchase is not a no-cost meal: the qualifying item still has to be bought. A loyalty-account requirement or a particular order channel can also affect whether an offer is usable. Shake Shack’s terms illustrate how fulfillment date and excluded venue types matter; Fatburger’s offer applied only to qualifying online orders during its stated window at participating locations.
