My Lovely Planet announced an environmental fund in May 2023, saying it would allocate 400 million My Lovely Coin (MLC)—40% of a stated one-billion-token supply—to environmental work. That is a reported token allocation plan, not proof of the fund’s current dollar value, money already paid to projects, or a ranking among environmental funds. The available sources do not substantiate the description “one of the largest.”
What My Lovely Planet announced
In a May 15, 2023 announcement reported by Bitcoinist, the project said it planned to allocate 40% of its stated one-billion MLC supply—400 million tokens—to an environmental fund. The announcement also reported that €750,000 worth of MLC had been sold by that date and set a further fundraising aim of €2 million. Those are historical claims reported at the time, not a current fund balance or verified project spending.
The token allocation is not interchangeable with cash or completed environmental grants. A token’s market value can change, and allocating tokens does not establish that they were sold, converted into funds, or disbursed. The sources available do not show an independently verified treasury balance or payout total.
How the game, token and environmental work connect
Game activity and donations
The 2023 announcement described a free-to-play mobile game connected to real-world environmental work, with a portion of company revenue donated to NGOs. It named Eden Reforestation for reforestation and forest protection, Sea Shepherd France for ocean protection, SPA for animal protection, Plastic Bank for ocean cleanup, and Un toit pour les abeilles for beehive funding. These are partners named in the 2023 report; that report does not establish that every relationship remains active today.

In a July 2025 release, My Lovely Planet said that every 100 puzzle levels completed corresponded to one real-world tree planted, attributing planting to NGO partnerships including Graine de Vie in Madagascar. The release also described MLC-holder voting on environmental investments such as reforestation, carbon credits and clean-energy initiatives. These are company-described mechanics and claims, not independent verification of outcomes.
What MLC is and how users can obtain it
My Lovely Planet’s current terms of use describe MLC as a utility token recorded on Polygon. They say users cannot buy MLC directly through the application: users may obtain it through exchanges or convert in-game Diamonds after purchasing and staking a quantity of MLC shown in the app. The terms also state that wallet private keys remain with users rather than the company.

The company’s July 2025 release described a $100 MLC stake threshold to unlock conversion of in-game Diamonds into MLC. Treat that threshold as a dated description, not a guarantee of the current in-app requirement; token and application mechanics can change. The current terms’ reference to a quantity shown in the app likewise makes the applicable requirement something users should check in the app before committing funds.

The tree-count discrepancy is a reason to preserve each figure’s source and date rather than combine them into a single “current” total. The available sources do not explain the difference. More broadly, they do not establish current environmental treasury assets, independently verified disbursements, or the amount of environmental work funded from the token allocation.
Is it one of the largest environmental endowment funds?
The sources do not demonstrate that it is. A meaningful comparison would need a defined group of funds and comparable measures—for example, current assets, whether those assets are liquid or merely committed, and grants actually delivered. The 2023 announcement supplies a proposed number of tokens, but not the information needed to calculate the fund’s present value or rank it against other environmental endowments.

My Lovely Planet’s current website describes an Environmental Treasury and says MLC holders can vote for NGOs. That establishes how the project describes its governance, not an independently confirmed treasury balance or record of payments. For a personal-finance decision, the key distinction is between tokens allocated to a treasury, the treasury’s current value, and money demonstrably delivered to environmental projects; the available material supports the first only as a company-stated plan.

The environmental purpose and the financial characteristics of a token are separate questions. The materials cited here do not establish MLC’s current market value, the treasury’s assets, or investment returns. Anyone considering acquiring or staking MLC should verify the current terms and app requirements, understand the risks of holding a cryptoasset, and avoid treating a stated environmental allocation as evidence of guaranteed value or impact.
