MTT Sports promoted free-to-play Bitcoin tournaments around its 2024 TOKEN2049 Singapore appearance, but those advertised prizes are historical—not proof that free entry or weekly Bitcoin payouts are available now. The company later said it was ending its free mining competition model, while its June 2025 whitepaper described a different tournament system. Treat prize pools, schedules, and fairness claims as company statements unless independently verified.
What were MTT Sports’ free Bitcoin tournaments?
In a September 26, 2024 announcement distributed by Chainwire, MTT Sports described itself as a Platinum Sponsor at TOKEN2049 Singapore and promoted a “One Week, One Bitcoin” series. The release said tournament entry was free and advertised a weekly prize pool of 1 Bitcoin plus at least 100,000 MTT tokens. It named October 1–4 as qualification dates and 0.5 BTC plus 5,000 MTT tokens as the champion’s reward. These were terms in that dated promotion, not an offer that can be assumed to remain active. The release also characterized the game as skill-oriented and blockchain-integrated. Those are promotional descriptions by the company; they do not independently establish legal classification, fairness, or today’s access conditions.
Is MTT Sports still giving away Bitcoin?
The available dated statements do not establish that MTT Sports currently offers free weekly Bitcoin tournaments. On May 5, 2025, MTT Sports said it was “officially closing the chapter on its free mining competition model” and introducing Trial Tickets. The company framed the change as a way to reward players, with a representative saying, “The Trial Ticket system helps us reward the real players—the ones building with us,” in the company announcement. That release also included an About section describing a 100 BTC reward pool, with one BTC distributed weekly among the top 27 players. Because the same announcement describes moving away from free mining while retaining that reward language, it should be read as a dated and potentially changing promotional description—not confirmation of an ongoing free weekly payout. The June 2025 whitepaper describes BTC tournaments and a stated 100 BTC allocation distributed through events every two weeks. It does not verify a live calendar, funded pool, current rewards, eligibility, or geographic availability. Before relying on a prize claim, check the live platform and the applicable tournament terms for entry requirements, dates, payout rules, and regional restrictions.
How does the whitepaper say MTT Sports tournaments work?
MTT Sports’ June 2025 platform whitepaper describes a browser-accessible application on MTT Network, with mobile optimization and no client installation required. It outlines two broad tournament formats, but these are documented platform descriptions rather than confirmation of current events or terms.

MTT Sports describes its game as “a Texas Hold’em competition platform focusing on the WEB3 field.” In practical terms, the whitepaper presents multi-table Texas Hold’em tournaments with different entry routes, rather than a guaranteed free-to-enter Bitcoin event.
What does MTT Sports claim about blockchain and fairness?
The whitepaper describes MTT Sports as a native blockchain application on MTT Network, which it identifies as Cosmos SDK-based and EVM-compatible. It says dealing uses verifiable random-number generation based on player input, and that facial recognition is used for human verification. These are the company’s descriptions of its proposed or implemented systems. They are not independent evidence that a game is fair, secure, resistant to bots, or free of other risks; the cited materials do not provide an independent audit.

The same platform document describes clubs that can be created by staking MTT subject to review, with separate club domains and revenue sharing. Those are documented design features, not proof that a particular club, approval, or earning opportunity is available now.

MTT Sports’ September 2024 announcement described its Singapore appearance as a Platinum Sponsorship. Its May 2025 announcement said it would be a Platinum Sponsor at TOKEN2049 Dubai 2025. The latter also announced a plan to burn 1 billion MTT; the announcement establishes that the plan was stated, not that the burn was completed.
