MPSC declared the Maharashtra Group B (Non-Gazetted) Services Combined Preliminary Examination 2024 result on May 19, 2025. The prelims were held on February 2, 2025, and 8,179 candidates were reported shortlisted for the Mains examination. To check your result, search your roll number in the result PDF on the Maharashtra Public Service Commission website, then compare your status with the cut-off for your applicable category and subcategory.
What the result covers
This is the 2024 recruitment examination cycle, although the preliminary examination took place in 2025. The Times of India reported that the recruitment covered 480 vacancies for Assistant Section Officer, Police Sub-Inspector, State Tax Inspector and Sub Registrar posts. It reported the shortlist count and vacancy figure as MPSC result information; the Commission’s original result PDF was not readable through the official portal during verification, so those figures should be understood as news-reported.
The result PDF reportedly lists qualified candidates and category-wise cut-offs. Being shortlisted means progressing to Mains; it is not a final appointment.
How to check your roll number
- Go to the Maharashtra Public Service Commission website.
- Open “Latest Updates” and select the Group B result link for the 2024 preliminary examination.
- Open the PDF and use your browser or PDF reader’s search function to find your roll number.
- Check the relevant category and subcategory cut-off in the result material, including any applicable horizontal category shown in the official document.
Use the Commission’s result material rather than an unofficial list. The MPSC results and merit-list portal was available, but it required JavaScript and did not expose the target PDF for independent inspection. No direct PDF link or exact cut-off values can therefore be confirmed here.
How to read the cut-off
There is no single score that applies to every candidate. Match your circumstances to the corresponding category and subcategory in the official cut-off table; where relevant, also check the horizontal category. Do not compare your score with a different category’s threshold or treat a general cut-off as universal.
The official table could not be independently inspected, so exact category-specific cut-off scores are not reproduced. Confirm the figures against the result PDF before drawing a conclusion about your status.

The Times of India report said shortlisting was provisional and that eligibility would be confirmed using information in candidates’ online applications. It also cited reservation-related court proceedings as a caveat at the time of reporting. That is a dated report, not an update on the current status of those proceedings. Check MPSC’s current notices for any later clarification or instructions.
