Three entry-level luxury SUVs have official 2026 U.S. starting prices that can be confirmed from manufacturer sources: the Acura ADX at $35,000, the Lexus UX 300h at $38,850, and the Volvo XC40 Core at $41,295. Those three figures are not measured the same way. The Acura price excludes a separately listed destination charge, the Lexus price includes delivery, processing, and handling, and the Volvo figure is an MSRP for a trim whose specifications are tied to a specific drivetrain. Because the sources do not yet establish a complete, like-for-like price for ten eligible models, this article does not present a top-ten ranking. It explains what each verified number includes, what it leaves out, and how to compare entry-level luxury SUVs on equal terms.

Verified 2026 starting prices

The table below lists only the figures published by each manufacturer for the 2026 model year, with the fee treatment and drivetrain stated beside each number. Where a source does not state a detail, the table says so.

Model (2026 unless noted) Entry trim priced Starting price What the figure includes Drivetrain stated Source
Acura ADX Base $35,000 Excludes a separately specified $1,450 destination charge Not stated for the base trim Acura’s 2026 ADX announcement
Lexus UX 300h Base (starting MSRP) $38,850 Includes delivery, processing, and handling; the separate amount for each is not broken out Base drivetrain not stated; an AWD version is listed at $40,420 Lexus USA release issued in 2025 for the 2026 model year, with an official pricing table
Volvo XC40 Core $41,295 (MSRP) MSRP; the page does not say whether destination is included Page specifications apply to the B5 AWD version; base drivetrain not stated Volvo Cars USA 2026 XC40 pricing page

Why these numbers cannot be ranked side by side

A starting price is only useful when you know what it covers. Three differences matter here, and each one can move the comparison by more than a few hundred dollars.

Destination and delivery charges

Acura’s announcement lists the ADX at $35,000 and adds a $1,450 destination charge on top of that figure. Adding the two gives $36,450 before taxes, registration, and any dealer-added items. Lexus describes its $38,850 starting MSRP as including delivery, processing, and handling, so that figure is closer to a delivered price, but Lexus does not separate those components in the release. Volvo’s $41,295 is labeled as an MSRP without a clear statement about delivery. The $2,400 gap between the ADX with its destination charge and the Lexus is therefore an indication, not a verified difference in what you would pay.

Trim level and drivetrain

Each manufacturer offers more than one version. Acura’s ADX page lists the A-Spec at $38,200 and the A-Spec with Advance at $42,400, so the $35,000 figure is the entry point, not the typical transaction price for a loaded model. Lexus lists the AWD version of the UX 300h separately at $40,420, which means the $38,850 figure should not be compared with an all-wheel-drive price from another brand. Volvo ties its XC40 specifications to the B5 AWD version, so the drivetrain behind the Core figure should be confirmed before comparing it with a front-wheel-drive price elsewhere.

Model year

Every figure above is for the 2026 model year, and the Lexus figure comes from a 2025 announcement for that model year. Prices change when a model year is refreshed. A comparison that mixes a 2025 price with a 2026 price, or uses a model-year-agnostic listing, will not show how the vehicles compare today.

Provisional order by listed starting price

If you sort the three verified figures strictly by their published numbers, the order is:

  • Acura ADX, $35,000 before its $1,450 destination charge (about $36,450 with that charge added)
  • Lexus UX 300h, $38,850 including delivery, processing, and handling
  • Volvo XC40 Core, $41,295 as an MSRP for the trim tied to the B5 AWD specifications

This order is provisional. It is not a finding that the ADX is the least expensive luxury SUV overall, because the sources do not cover enough other models to support that claim. Nor does it show that the ADX costs less to buy, since the Lexus and Volvo figures may be quoted on bases that differ from the ADX’s.

Higher trims and manufacturer claims

Acura’s competitor comparison page

Acura publishes a comparison page with prices for selected competitor trims. It lists the 2026 Volvo XC40 Ultra at $52,545, the 2025 Audi Q3 Premium Plus at $42,600, the 2026 BMW X1 M Sport Premium at $44,800, the 2025 Lexus UX 300h at $39,605, and the 2025 Mercedes GLA 250 Pinnacle at $51,300. These are chosen trims from different model years, not base prices. The Volvo Ultra figure also differs from the $52,645 that Volvo’s own page lists for the same trim, so the source you use matters. None of these numbers should be used to rank entry-level models.

Acura’s positioning of the ADX

Acura’s launch material describes the ADX as a gateway SUV. In a statement attributed to Mike Langel, assistant vice president, Acura National Sales, the company says the vehicle “has added new value to our lineup” and is “attracting young buyers to our brand while also conquesting customers from other luxury makes.” That is manufacturer marketing, not independent evidence about buyer behavior or market share.

Consumer Reports listing leads

An undated Consumer Reports listing gives a 2026 Acura ADX base MSRP range of $35,000 to $44,400, a Lincoln Corsair range of $39,985 to $54,365, a Volvo XC40 range of $39,900 to $51,900, a BMW X1 range of $43,200 to $52,400, and a 2025 Cadillac XT4 range of $40,795 to $44,095. The listing mixes model years, and its Volvo XC40 range conflicts with Volvo’s current official pricing. The Lincoln, BMW, and Cadillac figures have not been matched to official U.S. base prices in this article, so they are leads for further checking rather than verified entries.

How to compare entry-level luxury SUVs on equal terms

  1. Confirm the model year on the manufacturer’s U.S. website and note the date you checked.
  2. Identify the lowest-priced trim and whether the figure is labeled MSRP, starting MSRP, or a price that includes destination.
  3. Record the drivetrain for that trim. If the manufacturer lists an all-wheel-drive version separately, keep it out of the entry-price comparison.
  4. Ask each dealer for an itemized out-the-door quote that shows the vehicle price, destination or delivery charge, dealer fees, sales tax, and registration. Compare those totals, not the sticker figures.
  5. Repeat the process for the same model year and trim before deciding which vehicle costs less.

Pricing changes often. Use the manufacturer’s current figures and a written dealer quote for any purchase decision.
