What was planned for the Butler opening?
PerthNow reported on 1 June 2023 that Velocity Activewear would open its Butler store that Saturday, 3 June. The 800-square-metre store on Camborne Parkway was described as having change rooms and a photography studio at the rear. How did Velocity grow into a retail business?
PerthNow reported that Turley launched Velocity at the end of June 2021 and that the business had outgrown the spare bedroom at her parents’ home by the time of the Butler opening. The story described her brother, Adam Turley, and his partner, Eve Byrne, as the company’s first Butler employees.
The same report said Velocity had generated more than $2 million in revenue in just under two years. That is a figure reported by PerthNow; the story did not identify an audited statement or independent verification, so it should not be treated as an audited financial result.

Who is Milly Turley?
PerthNow described Turley as a Jindalee business owner and Ryderwear model. The report said she had worked as a lash technician, completed Certificate III and IV in fitness, and then worked as an F45 instructor before launching Velocity. This career history is as reported in the 2023 article.
Why were scrunch leggings part of the story?
Turley highlighted scrunched leggings and shorts as a central part of Velocity’s product identity and said customer connection and community mattered to the brand’s appeal. PerthNow identified the Ultimate seamless scrunch leggings as one of the brand’s popular products at the time; that description is not an independent assessment of fit, quality, or performance.

“I believe I was one of the first brands, especially in WA, that really got on to this particular style in scrunched leggings and scrunched shorts, which is a massive trend at the moment.”
Turley made that statement in the 1 June 2023 PerthNow story. It reflects her view at that time, not an independently established claim about being first.
What is known about Velocity’s stores now?
A PerthNow report dated 27 July 2026 said Velocity operated six stores in Australia and named Butler and Cannington as its other Perth outlets. It also reported that the brand planned to close its first retail store, at Karrinyup, in October 2026. The report is dated; it does not establish whether that planned closure occurred or confirm the status of any store after October. PerthNow’s July 2026 coverage.
Velocity’s official website, checked on 8 October 2026, presents an Australian ecommerce range of activewear and gym wear, including tops and bottoms. Product selection and displayed prices can change. The website is the more appropriate place to check current products and any current store information: Velocity Activewear.

What the available figures do—and do not—show
The reported revenue figure and the store footprint answer different questions. The more-than-$2-million figure is PerthNow’s account of revenue in the brand’s first two years, not a disclosed audited result. The six-store count is a separate July 2026 media report, not a current independently verified count. Neither figure alone establishes profitability, sales per store, or the present trading status of the Butler location.
