No verified figure for Michael Andretti’s net worth is established by the available public sources cited here. They document his racing career, team ownership and other business interests, but do not provide a complete account of his assets, debts, current business stakes or proceeds from the team’s ownership transition.
Why there is no reliable net-worth figure
Net worth is the value of a person’s assets minus liabilities. A career résumé, a company’s team record or a reported ownership stake does not supply that calculation. The sources cited here do not disclose Andretti’s personal balance sheet, the value of his various business interests, or the terms and proceeds of the Andretti Global ownership transaction. As a result, a precise dollar estimate cannot be verified from this evidence.
Andretti Global’s official history provides background on the organization, not a personal financial statement. The SEC-hosted 2025 Form 10-K, filed in 2026, includes a company biography of Andretti and describes business interests, but likewise does not report his net worth.
How Michael Andretti built his career and business profile
Racing career
Andretti was named co-Rookie of the Year at the 1984 Indianapolis 500, finished second in the 1986 championship and won the Champ Car World Series in 1991, according to the SEC-filed biography. Those accomplishments establish a substantial racing career; the cited sources do not quantify his career earnings.

Team ownership and leadership
After the 2003 Indianapolis 500, Andretti retired from full-time INDYCAR racing and bought into Team Green. The SEC-filed biography says that Andretti Autosport emerged from a 2009 restructuring with Andretti as sole owner. The same biography records four INDYCAR Series championships and five Indianapolis 500 victories for the team. These are team achievements, not evidence of Andretti’s personal income or wealth.
On October 8, 2024, INDYCAR reported that Dan Towriss would assume daily leadership of the team and Andretti would move into an advisory role. The Associated Press later reported that Towriss was majority owner of the Andretti race teams. Neither report gives the purchase price for Andretti’s stake or his net proceeds, so the transition does not establish the value of his current assets.

Other business interests
The SEC-filed biography identifies interests including car dealerships, Speedmart stores, car washes, powersports stores and an apparel line. It does not state the value of these businesses or Andretti’s ownership share in each. Without those details, their contribution to his personal net worth cannot be calculated.

In September 2024, the Associated Press reported that Andretti held nearly 13% of diluted equity in Zapata Computing. That is a reported stake at that time, not a current valuation. The report does not establish the stake’s present value or status, and one equity interest cannot by itself establish total net worth.

Figures that should not be mistaken for personal wealth
- Team wins and championships: These describe the racing organization’s record, not Andretti’s earnings or ownership value.
- Planned headquarters size: INDYCAR reported in 2022 that the planned Andretti Autosport headquarters would cover 575,000 square feet. That is a facility project figure, not a measure of Andretti’s personal assets.
- Business interests: The SEC-filed biography names businesses but does not disclose their valuations, liabilities or Andretti’s stake in each.
- Reported Zapata equity: The nearly 13% figure is a dated report from September 2024, not a current dollar valuation.
