That is not proof of fraud, but it is a serious reason to pause before sending money. A broker should be easy to identify through a legal company name, regulator, licence number, official domain and clear withdrawal terms. If MGM Markets cannot provide and substantiate those details, treat it as high risk.
Do not confuse a trading website using the name MGM Markets with MGM Resorts International or any unrelated financial business. The brand name alone proves nothing about ownership, regulation or the safety of client funds.
What is MGM Markets?
The first problem with reviewing MGM Markets is identity. A broker review is only meaningful when the website, legal entity and regulator can be connected to one another. A trading brand can operate through a different registered company, use several domains or be impersonated by another website.
Before opening an account, obtain these details directly from the broker:
#1 Best Overall
- As a day trader, you can live and work anywhere in the world. You can decide when to work and when not to work.
- You only answer to yourself. That is the life of the successful day trader. Many people aspire to it, but very few succeed. Day trading is not gambling or an online poker game.
- To be successful at day trading you need the right tools and you need to be motivated, to work hard, and to persevere.
- the full legal name of the operating company;
- its company registration number and registered address;
- the regulator supervising its investment or derivatives activity;
- the exact licence or reference number;
- the official domain and support email addresses; and
- the entity that will hold client money and execute trades.
If the answers are vague, inconsistent or supplied only through a salesperson on WhatsApp or Telegram, do not deposit.
Is MGM Markets regulated?
I cannot responsibly confirm a regulated status for MGM Markets from the brand name alone. A broker’s statement that it is “licensed,” “regulated” or “internationally authorised” is not sufficient. The licence must appear in the regulator’s own public register, and the register entry must match the company operating the account.
Use the register relevant to your country:
| Where you live | Register to check | What to match |
|---|---|---|
| United States | NFA BASIC and the CFTC verification page | Forex dealer or futures commission merchant status, legal name and disciplinary history |
| United Kingdom | FCA Financial Services Register | Exact firm name, permissions and approved domain |
| Australia | ASIC professional registers | AFSL holder, authorised activities and business names |
| European Union | The relevant national regulator’s register | Investment-firm authorisation, passporting information and domain |
A register result for a similar name is not enough. Fraudulent websites regularly copy real company names, licence numbers and addresses. Type the regulator’s website into your browser yourself rather than using a link supplied by a caller.

Why offshore or weakly identified brokers are risky
Even when a company is incorporated somewhere, incorporation is not the same as authorisation to provide retail forex or CFD services. Company registration confirms that an entity exists; it does not guarantee honest dealing, segregated money, fair execution or successful withdrawals.

- segregation of client funds;
- negative-balance protection;
- access to an investor-compensation scheme;
- formal complaint and ombudsman procedures;
- limits on leverage and marketing; or
- enforcement assistance if the broker is overseas.
Ask for the precise legal basis of each protection. Marketing phrases such as “secure,” “institutional liquidity” and “bank-grade protection” are not substitutes for a regulator, written terms and an enforceable complaints process.

Minimum deposit, spreads and leverage
Do not judge MGM Markets by an advertised spread or welcome bonus. The important question is the total cost under the account you would actually receive. Request the following in writing:
- minimum initial deposit and any minimum balance;
- spread or commission for the instruments you plan to trade;
- overnight financing and other carrying charges;
- deposit, withdrawal and currency-conversion fees;
- maximum leverage and margin-closeout level; and
- any volume, inactivity or account-maintenance charges.
Very high leverage increases the chance that a small market move will consume the account’s margin. A bonus that requires a large trading volume before withdrawal can also make it difficult to recover deposited funds. Read the bonus terms before accepting anything; the safest choice is usually to decline a trading bonus.
Withdrawals are the key test
Identity checks, proof of address and returning money to the original payment method can be normal anti-money-laundering procedures. They should be described in the broker’s published terms and should not require you to pay more money merely to access your own balance.

- Great one for reading
- It's a great choice for a book person
Stop communicating with a purported broker and do not send another payment if anyone tells you to:
- deposit more money to unlock a withdrawal;
- pay an advance tax, insurance charge or profit fee;
- reach VIP status before funds can be released;
- pay a “security deposit” or “liquidity” charge;
- send cryptocurrency to an external wallet for verification; or
- borrow money to satisfy a margin or withdrawal demand.
These are classic advance-fee warning signs. A genuine tax obligation is normally handled with the tax authority, not by paying a broker an invented release fee. Do not let a salesperson’s claim that a payment is “refundable” change the decision.
How to check MGM Markets before depositing
- Save the evidence. Record the website address, company name, licence claims, account agreement, fee schedule and all messages.
- Check the domain. Look for misspellings, recently created domains, hidden ownership, copied text and email addresses that do not match the official site.
- Verify the legal entity. Search the claimed company in the relevant corporate registry, then compare its address and directors with the broker’s documents.
- Verify the financial licence. Search the regulator independently. Confirm that the permissions cover retail forex, CFDs or the exact product being offered.
- Check the payment recipient. The account holder should normally match the authorised firm. Avoid personal bank accounts, unrelated companies and cryptocurrency wallets.
- Read withdrawal terms first. Search the agreement for “withdrawal,” “bonus,” “margin,” “fees,” “third party,” “dispute” and “governing law.”
- Test support with specific questions. Ask for the legal entity, licence number, withdrawal procedure and complete fee schedule. Evasive or urgent replies are a warning.
- Do not rely on a small successful withdrawal. Some dishonest operations allow a modest withdrawal to encourage a much larger deposit.
If you already deposited money
Do not pay an additional withdrawal fee. Download account statements and transaction records, save chats and emails, and stop granting remote access to your computer or phone. Contact your bank or card provider immediately and ask whether a card chargeback, bank recall or fraud procedure is available. Cryptocurrency transfers are usually difficult to reverse, but you should still report the receiving wallet and transaction hash to the exchange used and the relevant authorities.
Best Value
Change passwords if you shared them, enable two-factor authentication and check whether the caller installed remote-control software. Report the conduct to your financial regulator, local police or cybercrime reporting service. If you are in the United States, the FTC and CFTC are additional reporting channels; reporting does not guarantee recovery, but prompt action can help preserve evidence.

| Overall risk classification | Unverified and high risk until the broker’s identity, licence and withdrawal terms are independently confirmed. |
FAQ
Is MGM Markets a scam?
There is not enough verified information here to make a definitive fraud finding, but there is also not enough to recommend it as a legitimate broker. Until its legal entity, licence and official domain are confirmed through an independent regulator, treat it as high risk.
What should I do if MGM Markets asks for more money before a withdrawal?
Do not send more money. Preserve all messages and payment records, contact your bank or card provider immediately, and report the matter to your financial regulator and relevant fraud authorities.
Can a company be registered but still be unsafe?
Yes. Company registration only shows that a business entity exists. It does not prove that the entity is authorised to offer retail trading or that customer funds are protected.

How can I verify a broker’s licence?
Find the claimed regulator independently, search its official register and match the exact legal name, licence number, permitted products, contact details and domain. A logo or certificate on the broker’s website is not enough.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: MGM Markets should not be treated as a verified broker on the strength of its name, website or sales claims. Do not deposit until an official regulator confirms the exact operating company and permissions. If the broker demands a new payment to release existing funds, assume the money is at serious risk and contact your payment provider immediately.
