MEXC may suit experienced crypto traders who value a broad selection of markets and low headline spot fees, but those advantages come with trade-offs: fees vary by order type and product, long-tail markets may be thin, and the exchange’s reserve disclosures do not remove custody or account-access risks. Check current terms and local availability before using it.
What is MEXC?
MEXC is a centralized cryptocurrency exchange offering spot trading, perpetual futures, copy trading, and Earn products. Its September 21, 2026 review said it listed more than 3,000 digital assets; MEXC said those figures were checked against its pages on August 20, 2026. That is a dated company figure, not an independent measure of market quality.
A large catalogue can make it easier to find less widely listed tokens, but availability is not the same as liquidity or quality. MEXC itself cautions that a wide listing policy is no substitute for researching an asset. For any trade, check the order book and spread for the specific pair rather than relying on the exchange’s total asset count.
What are MEXC’s fees?
MEXC’s September 2026 review stated the following spot rates and said its figures were checked on August 20, 2026. These are published rates, not a guarantee of the rate applicable to every account or trade.

#1 Best Overall
| Trade or cost | What MEXC reported | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Spot maker | 0% under the standard schedule, according to MEXC’s September 2026 review. | A maker order rests on the order book and adds liquidity; whether an order qualifies depends on how it executes. |
| Spot taker | 0.050% standard, or 0.040% when the MX token deduction is used, according to MEXC’s September 2026 review. | Confirm the live rate and whether the MX deduction is enabled and applicable. |
| Futures maker | From 0% to 0.010%, depending on contract, according to MEXC’s September 2026 review. | Check the exact contract; a rate for one pair is not necessarily the platform-wide rate. |
| Futures taker | From 0% to 0.040%, depending on contract, according to MEXC’s September 2026 review. | Check the exact contract and current schedule before trading. |
| Perpetual funding | Separate from trading commissions; MEXC’s review does not give one universal funding rate. | Funding can be paid or received while a position is open, so check the rate and timing for the contract. |
| API trading | MEXC describes separate API fee schedules; its broker FAQ says Web/App fee promotions do not apply to API trading. | Automated traders should use the API schedule rather than assume app pricing applies. |
| Withdrawals | Network fees are separate and vary by chain, according to MEXC’s review. | Check the asset, network, and displayed fee immediately before withdrawing. |
How maker and taker fees work
A limit order that rests on the order book may be charged as a maker order. An order that executes immediately against existing orders is generally taker activity. The order label alone does not establish the fee: execution determines whether it adds liquidity or takes it.
What the headline rate means in dollars
MEXC’s September 2026 review illustrated its stated spot rates with $120,000 in annual trading volume: $0 if every order were maker, $60 at the stated 0.050% taker rate, or $48 using the stated 0.040% taker rate with MX deduction. This is arithmetic based on those rates, not an estimate of an individual trader’s bill. Actual costs depend on order mix, eligibility for deductions, and the current fee schedule.
Rank #2
For a fair comparison with another exchange, include funding, withdrawal charges, API fees, and the spread—not just the trading commission. A lower commission can be outweighed by a wider spread or poor liquidity.
Is MEXC safe, and is it legit?
MEXC is a centralized exchange, so customers entrust the platform with custody and account access. Its disclosures provide information to assess, not a guarantee against insolvency, operational failure, account restrictions, or trading losses. Coin Bureau’s March 2026 review characterized MEXC’s product breadth as stronger than its trust profile; that is an editorial judgment, not a regulator’s finding.

- BUILT FOR YOUR MARKET, FUTURES, STOCKS, FOREX, OPTIONS & CRYPTO: 4X is a mindset and process journal, not a strategy tool tied to one instrument. The plan, the trade log, the deep dive and the weekly review work the same whether you trade ES, EURUSD, SPY or BTC. Traders use it across all five markets every day.
- THE 2026 EDITION, REBUILT FROM TRADER FEEDBACK: Same trusted system, better in every way. An extra daily page for more room to log the session. Weekly reviews now grouped with each week's trades, so no more flipping back and forth. Crisp, darker print that's easy on the eyes after hours on a screen. A Quick-Start QR that scans straight to step-by-step instructions.
- NOT A NOTEBOOK, A COMPLETE 12-WEEK SYSTEM: Start with a one-time 9-part Trading Plan (your market, setups, risk rules and discipline checklist). Then twelve identical weeks: five Daily Logs, five Deep Dive trade pages, and a two-page Weekly Review. 189 guided pages, roughly 80 trades. Guided prompts walk you through every step. You never stare at a blank page.
- RATE YOUR EXECUTION, NOT YOUR RESULT: Your platform tracks the P&L. Nothing tracks the why. Log energy, sleep and mindset before the open; grade every trade A to F on whether you followed your plan, not on whether it won; then face the pattern every weekend with START / STOP / IMPROVE / CONTINUE. That review habit is the edge. You're 42% more likely to hit a goal you've written down.
- BUILT TO LAST, ARRIVES GIFT-READY: Vegan-leather hardcover, 100gsm bleed-resistant paper, two ribbon markers and an elastic closure band. Bound to lay flat so you're not fighting the spine while you write. 189 pages, 5.75" x 8.5", carries in a bag. Ships in a premium gift box: the gift every trader in your life actually wants.
What its Proof of Reserves says—and does not say
MEXC’s January 27, 2026 release reported reserve ratios from an audit completed January 9, 2026, and described user balance verification using Merkle-tree infrastructure. The figures below are MEXC-published snapshot values.
| Asset | MEXC-reported reserve ratio |
|---|---|
| BTC | 157.9% |
| ETH | 107.08% |
| USDT | 126.61% |
| USDC | 139.6% |
A reserve ratio is a snapshot for the reported assets and date. Coin Bureau notes that Proof of Reserves is not a full audit; the disclosure does not by itself establish the exchange’s complete balance sheet or eliminate custodial, legal, or operational risks.
Guardian Fund and account controls
CoinGecko’s 2026 Spot CEX Report says MEXC launched its Guardian Fund in June 2025 with an initial value of $100 million. The report describes the fund as intended to cover platform security breaches and technical issues and says its addresses are public. The reported purpose and initial value do not establish that every customer loss is covered or reimbursed.
MEXC’s Risk Control Guideline says reviews may be triggered by trading anomalies, irregularities in spot or futures markets, compliance or legal concerns, or listing-related risks. It gives the platform authority to restrict leverage, fees, trading pairs, order placement, positions, or position size, and to use forced liquidation where appropriate. These are policy provisions; they do not establish how often reviews occur or whether a particular review will result in a restriction.

Can you use MEXC in your country?
Availability depends on current MEXC terms and the rules that apply where you live. The material available for this review does not establish current legal availability in every jurisdiction, so do not assume that access to the website or app means every product is permitted for you.
- Check MEXC’s current terms and restricted-jurisdiction information before opening or funding an account.
- Check local regulator guidance and rules for the specific product you intend to use; spot access and derivatives access may not have the same status.
- Confirm that your location and identity documents meet the exchange’s requirements, and understand how account reviews could affect trading or withdrawals.
Who might choose MEXC?
It may fit
- Experienced traders who want access to a broad range of crypto markets and understand that listing breadth does not ensure liquidity.
- Spot traders who can distinguish maker from taker execution and verify the applicable fee schedule.
- Derivatives traders who understand leverage, liquidation, and funding costs and are able to assess whether those products are available to them.
It may be a poor fit
- People who need a simple, low-risk way to hold savings; exchange trading and custody expose users to risks that are different from holding cash at a bank.
- Beginners who are not comfortable evaluating token quality, spreads, leverage, or account restrictions.
- Traders who need a particular fiat deposit or withdrawal route, asset, license, or appeal process unless they have confirmed that MEXC currently supports it for their location.
How to evaluate MEXC against another exchange
Compare platforms for the same jurisdiction and date. Use the specific markets and products you expect to use, not a headline score or token count.
- Total trading cost: Compare maker and taker rates, API terms, perpetual funding, network withdrawal charges, and spreads.
- Market quality: Check the assets you need and the depth and spread of their actual trading pairs.
- Product and leverage: Confirm which products are available to you and compare the relevant leverage limits and liquidation rules.
- Custody disclosures: Review reserve disclosures, their scope and date, any stated audit methodology, and what a protection fund actually covers.
- Access and support: Check local availability, fiat routes, account-review rules, and the procedure for challenging a restriction.
Those checks matter more than treating a single fee, reserve ratio, or review score as a complete verdict.
