Sister Wives star Meri Brown says money connected to her former husband Kody Brown and his wife Robyn Brown’s Arizona home remains disputed. The disagreement, discussed during part two of the Sister Wives: 1-on-1 special that aired Jan. 18, 2026, centers on whether Meri’s contribution was a loan, a gift or part of shared family finances. The reports do not establish a confirmed debt, an exact balance or a later payment.
Why Meri Brown says money is owed
The dispute concerns money associated with the sale of Meri’s Las Vegas home and the purchase of Kody and Robyn Brown’s Arizona home. E! reported that proceeds from the Las Vegas sale went toward the Arizona property, but the parties differ over what that contribution meant. E!’s recap of the special describes the disagreement as whether the money was a loan or a gift.

Meri said she did not contest Kody receiving half of the Las Vegas proceeds, despite saying she had lived in the home for most of the time and made its payments. She described the separate Arizona-home contribution as disputed. Us Weekly also recounted her explanation about the Vegas proceeds. Us Weekly’s account reports her saying she accepted a half share for Kody because his name was on the property.
What Meri, Kody and Robyn say
| Person | Reported account |
|---|---|
| Meri Brown | She said she accepted an even split of the Las Vegas proceeds, while disputing the characterization of her contribution toward the Arizona home. |
| Kody Brown | He said the Las Vegas proceeds were subject to a 50/50 division and characterized the money toward Robyn’s home as a gift. E! reported that he said payment would be taken care of, while the particulars still needed to be negotiated. |
| Robyn Brown | She described the contribution and discussions differently, including saying they had discussed a non-disclosure agreement and that Meri was concerned about recovering her investment. |
These are the participants’ accounts as summarized by entertainment-news outlets, not findings about who is legally right. The reports do not include contracts or financial records that would settle how the contribution was documented.

How Coyote Pass fits into the disagreement
The money discussion overlapped with negotiations over the sale of Coyote Pass, the family’s property. The accounts differ over contributions, shares and confidentiality arrangements. Neither E! nor Us Weekly provides the underlying sale documents or a legal ruling that establishes the parties’ respective rights.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Was Meri repaid, and how much is at issue?
The reviewed coverage does not give a verified amount or confirm that Meri was paid after the special aired. E! reported Kody’s statement that he and Meri would take care of the matter, but also said the particulars had yet to be negotiated. That is not confirmation of a completed repayment or an agreed balance.
Rank #2
Without underlying loan, deed, sale or divorce records—or an adjudicated decision—the reports cannot establish that an enforceable debt exists or determine its amount. The most precise description is that Meri says the contribution remains disputed, while Kody and Robyn have offered different accounts.
