What Megamod announced
In a company-issued release dated June 19, 2024, Megamod said it had raised $1.9 million at a $27 million post-money valuation. A post-money valuation is the company’s stated value after the new investment is included; it is not the amount raised or a guaranteed price at which investors can later sell shares. The release does not provide enough detail to calculate each investor’s ownership stake.
Megamod said the funding would support go-to-market work, including tests of its retention and monetization model. In practical terms, those efforts concern attracting users, keeping them engaged, and finding ways for the platform to generate revenue. The announcement described plans, not results from those tests.
Who participated in the round
Megamod named Xsolla founder Alexander Agapitov and his family fund, Hand of Midas, along with Rubylight Fund and other private investors. The release did not identify every private investor or state how much each participant invested. Megamod’s June 19, 2024 announcement contains the company’s account of the round.

What the platform does
Megamod describes itself as a multiplayer user-generated-content (UGC) game platform. The company’s creator page presents its tools as no-code; that is the company’s description, not an independent assessment of how much technical skill particular projects require.
Megamod’s current site also promotes uses for developers, educators, event organizers, platforms, and streamers. Examples include game-based learning, digital worlds for events, content feeds, collectibles, and interactive games for streamers. These are company-stated offerings and positioning. What Megamod reported about traction
The company’s 2024 announcement gave several figures about activity and cost. They should be read as Megamod’s claims at that time, not as independently audited results or current platform metrics.
- Megamod said it had more than 2,000 creators and more than 60,000 games over the preceding six months.
- The company claimed its content could be produced 200–300 times more cost-effectively and faster than by a traditional development company. The release did not supply a methodology or independent benchmark for that comparison.
- Megamod cited an approximate cost of $5 per unit of content but did not define the unit in a way that supports a direct comparison across projects.
- For CrazyGames, Megamod reported an 8.8 rating based on more than 21,000 reviews and more than 340,000 players during the first two weeks. These are figures attributed to Megamod in its announcement, not independently verified current totals.
The announcement also said Megamod games were listed on Y8 and CrazyGames and described the MegaBit app, web and mobile cross-play, and streamers playing short games with their audiences. Those statements describe the product and distribution context presented in 2024; they do not establish that every listing or feature remains available today. The company release is the source for these historical claims.

How to interpret the funding news
For readers tracking startup finance, the announcement signals that Megamod had secured capital to pursue distribution and test its business model. It does not disclose revenue, operating costs, runway, investor ownership, or whether the retention and monetization experiments succeeded. A funding round and a valuation are not evidence on their own that a product is profitable or that its reported user activity has continued.
GamesBeat also covered the round on June 19, 2024; its page notes a June 18, 2025 update. GamesBeat’s coverage provides independent reporting of the announcement, while the specific operating and traction figures above remain claims attributed to Megamod.
