The Indianapolis Colts’ ownership passed to Jim Irsay’s daughters in a planned family succession announced June 9, 2025—not a sale to outside buyers. Carlie Irsay-Gordon is the principal owner and CEO; Casey Foyt is owner and executive vice president; and Kalen Jackson is owner and chief brand officer, as well as president of the Colts Foundation. The Colts say the sisters share leadership duties.

Who owns the Colts now?

The Colts announced that ownership roles transferred from the late Jim Irsay to his daughters, effective immediately on June 9, 2025. The team described the change as following Irsay’s longstanding plans. It was a family succession, not an announced outside purchase. The Colts’ transition announcement and NFL coverage identify Carlie Irsay-Gordon as principal owner.

Owner Public role announced
Carlie Irsay-Gordon Owner and CEO; principal owner
Casey Foyt Owner and executive vice president
Kalen Jackson Owner and chief brand officer; president of the Indianapolis Colts Foundation

All three had served as vice chair and owner since 2012. The Colts say the sisters share leadership duties, while identifying Irsay-Gordon as principal owner. The announcement does not detail how authority is divided in legal or voting terms.

Are the three sisters billionaires?

The word “billionaire” in the headline question should not be taken as confirmation that each sister has a personal net worth of at least $1 billion. The official Colts ownership page establishes public roles, but the cited team materials do not state individual net worth figures or ownership percentages. They also do not establish that the sisters hold equal shares. The supported description is that they became the team’s owners through a planned family transition.

How did the Colts’ ownership pass through the Irsay family?

The franchise’s history under the Irsay family began with Robert Irsay, who acquired the Baltimore Colts in 1972 in a franchise trade with Carroll Rosenbloom. Robert moved the club to Indianapolis in 1984. His son Jim succeeded him as sole owner in 1997. After Jim’s death, the 2025 transition put the ownership roles in the hands of his three daughters. The team’s announcement recounts this family and franchise history.

What has Carlie Irsay-Gordon said about the team’s direction?

At a June 10, 2025 press conference, Irsay-Gordon described her goal as: “To entertain, inspire and unite by winning the right way, as we do in an organization and on the field and in our community.” That is her stated vision, not a guarantee of future results. The Colts’ press conference report includes the statement.
