What MCB Islamic Bank announced for the JAECOO J7
On February 2, 2026, ProPakistani reported that MCB Islamic Bank was offering JAECOO J7 financing through its MICAR vehicle-financing program. The report described the arrangement as diminishing Musharakah: scheduled payments allow the customer to acquire ownership over an agreed term. It listed a rental rate of one-year KIBOR plus 2%, a 1% Takaful contribution and priority delivery for eligible customers. The reported offer expiry was March 31, 2026. That report attributed the offer to the bank, but it is not a model-specific official product sheet or a signed financing agreement. Without those details, a buyer cannot calculate the total payable amount or make a like-for-like cost comparison.

How MICAR’s general terms fit—and where they may not
MICAR is MCB Islamic Bank’s vehicle-financing product for individuals. The bank’s product-comparison document identifies MICAR as based on Diminishing Musharakah and Ijarah. MCB Islamic Bank’s 2022 annual report also lists MICAR among its consumer-financing products for Shariah-compliant vehicle finance.
A later Pakistan Connect article describes general MICAR eligibility categories, income and age thresholds, tenure limits by vehicle type, a financing cap, Takaful and early buyout or settlement options. It also reports geographic restrictions. Those details concern the general product, not necessarily the expired J7 promotion; confirm current location eligibility and every applicable condition with the bank rather than applying general MICAR reporting to this model offer. What to request before comparing financing
If the bank confirms a current offer, ask for a written illustration that specifies:
- The J7 variant and price, initial contribution and amount financed.
- The tenure, installment schedule and total payable amount.
- The rental benchmark, the adjustment method and when the rate can change.
- All fees and the Takaful contribution, including what Takaful covers.
- Early settlement or buyout terms, and any associated charges.
- Whether priority delivery applies to you, how eligibility is determined and the expected delivery timing.
- Any income, age, location or other eligibility conditions that apply to your application.
Compare the written total cost and terms with other available financing options; the historical announcement alone does not contain enough information to calculate installments or establish which option would cost less.

What the Shariah-compliant description establishes
The bank’s product document describes MICAR’s financing framework as Diminishing Musharakah / Ijarah, and the J7 announcement was reported as using diminishing Musharakah.
