The MAT 2024 registration deadlines have passed. Contemporaneous reporting gave May 19, 2024 as the CBT registration deadline and May 28, 2024 as the PBT deadline. The reported exam dates were May 26 for CBT and June 2 for PBT; the report’s page also displayed an apparent “May 36” typo for the CBT date, so that date should be read with caution. The Indian Express report is historical, not a current registration notice.
MAT 2024 registration and exam dates
The Indian Express’s contemporaneous coverage reported these May 2024 dates:

These dates come from the contemporaneous report, not a preserved official AIMA 2024 schedule. As of October 2026, both registration windows and exams are in the past. AIMA’s currently surfaced schedule is for 2026, so it should not be used to infer any 2024 dates or fees. Check AIMA’s official MAT site for current-session information.
What PBT and CBT mean
PBT is the paper-based test; CBT is computer-based. They are different delivery modes for MAT. The historical report supplies separate registration and test dates, but it does not establish that either mode is easier. Choose a mode based on the available session details and your practical access to a test center; confirm the current arrangements with AIMA rather than relying on a past schedule.

What MAT tests
AIMA describes MAT as an entrance test used by business schools for MBA and related-program admissions. Its currently surfaced FAQ describes an objective multiple-choice exam with five sections:
- Language Comprehension
- Intelligence & Critical Reasoning
- Mathematical Skills
- Data Analysis & Sufficiency
- Economic & Business Environment
The same general FAQ lists 30 questions per section, 150 questions in total, a 120-minute duration, and a penalty of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. AIMA’s 2023–24 annual report says MAT was held in September and December 2023, and February and May 2024. It also says MAT 2.0 was introduced from May 2024 with a revised content focus and exam design. The report states that over 600 B-schools considered MAT scores for admissions during 2023–24; that figure describes that reporting period, not a guarantee of acceptance by any particular school. Registration, admit cards and scorecards
AIMA’s general registration information describes online registration through an applicant dashboard, including photo and signature uploads and online payment. The current official page displays fees of ₹2,300 for one test mode and ₹4,000 for PBT+CBT.
