Yes. Meta confirmed that CEO Mark Zuckerberg had dinner with President-elect Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago in Florida on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Meta said the dinner was an opportunity to meet Trump and members of his team about the incoming administration; it did not disclose a detailed agenda or outcome.
When and where did Zuckerberg meet Trump?
The dinner took place at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in Florida on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Meta confirmed the meeting and said Zuckerberg had been invited to dinner with Trump and members of his team. The Associated Press reported the meeting and Meta’s explanation.
What did Meta say the dinner was about?
A Meta spokesperson told the BBC, in a statement quoted by The Guardian, that Zuckerberg was grateful for the invitation and for the chance to meet members of Trump’s team “about the incoming Administration.” The spokesperson added: “It’s an important time for the future of American Innovation.”
That is Meta’s public description, not a transcript of the dinner. The available reporting does not establish the full private discussion, a specific commitment, or an agreement resulting from it. It would be inaccurate to present a particular policy deal or business arrangement as a confirmed outcome.

Why was the meeting notable?
The dinner followed a strained period in the relationship between Trump and Meta. Trump was removed from Facebook after the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol; Meta restored his account in early 2023, according to AP. AP also reported that Zuckerberg did not endorse a candidate in the 2024 presidential campaign.
Trump adviser Stephen Miller offered his own characterization of Zuckerberg’s position. Miller said Zuckerberg had his own interests, company, and agenda, but wanted to support what Miller called “the national renewal of America under Trump’s leadership.” Those were Miller’s remarks, not a direct statement from Zuckerberg about his private motives.

Was this the same meeting reported in January 2025?
No. The dinner described above was on November 27, 2024. A separate Semafor report published January 10, 2025 described another meeting at Mar-a-Lago that Friday and referred to the November dinner as an earlier meeting. Semafor said people familiar with the January meeting did not detail what was discussed. The two events should not be conflated.
