The Margaret River Chocolate Company’s Rocky Road Festival was a 2024 anniversary event, not a current competition announcement. Customers could sample and buy six limited-edition flavours at the company’s Margaret River and Swan Valley locations, then vote for one to join the regular range. The customer whose choice won could receive a rocky road hamper and have their name added to the new dessert.
What was the 2024 Rocky Road Festival?
The Margaret River Chocolate Company launched the festival to mark 25 years since its first factory opened on 15 May 1999. PerthNow reported on 29 May 2024 that it would run through June and into the July school holidays at the company’s Margaret River and Swan Valley locations. The event combined a limited-time product release with a customer vote and competition. PerthNow’s 2024 report provides the details.
How did the customer competition work?
Customers could sample and buy the six limited-edition flavours, then vote for the one they wanted added permanently to the regular range. One customer who selected the winning flavour could win a deluxe hamper containing the new and existing rocky road flavours. The winner would also have their name added to the new dessert.
The report does not establish entry eligibility, a closing date, or further selection rules, so those details should not be inferred. The competition was tied to the 2024 festival; the company’s current festival page does not establish that the customer competition is open or recurring.

Which flavours were available in 2024?
The six festival flavours reported in 2024 were:
- Lamington
- Club Tropicana
- Biscoff and salted caramel
- Cookies and cream
- Sweet and sour
- Peanut butter jelly
At the time, the report described the five standard flavours as white, milk, dark, caramel, and ruby. These are historical 2024 lists, not a guide to today’s stock. The company’s official Rocky Road Festival page currently describes an annual June festival and lists standard options including white, milk, dark, caramel, Biscoff salted caramel, and peanut butter and jelly. It also promotes Banoffee Toffee and Dubai Crunch among festival products. Product names and availability can change, so check the page for the current assortment.
Where could visitors go?
PerthNow’s 2024 account named the Margaret River and Swan Valley locations. The company’s current event page also identifies a Perth City store as a festival visit location. For the Margaret River site, the regional visitor listing describes a visitor attraction with chocolate viewing, café facilities, and chocolate-making experiences. Confirm current opening hours, bookings, and product availability with the relevant listings before travelling.

Why was the festival part of the company’s anniversary?
Co-owner Martin Black described the festival as one part of a wider anniversary programme. In PerthNow’s report, he said: “We plan to continue celebrating our 25th birthday or the next few months with a range of new products, a book launch, collaborations with local designers, the Rocky Road Festival and a whole lot more,” he said.
PerthNow also characterized the company as a privately owned tourist attraction welcoming “close to a million visitors each year.” That attendance figure is the outlet’s 2024 report; the article did not identify an underlying company or independent dataset.

Is the competition still running?
There is no basis in the current festival page to treat the 2024 customer competition as active or recurring. The company’s page is the appropriate place to check present-day festival products and information. Anyone planning a visit or online purchase should verify the current assortment, stock, and any applicable delivery details there rather than relying on the 2024 flavour list.
