Casemiro tops both reviewed Manchester United wage lists for 2025/26 at an estimated £350,000 a week, with Bruno Fernandes second at £300,000. Figures for several other players differ between sources, and the club has not officially confirmed these individual wages.
Manchester United’s reported highest weekly wages for 2025/26
The table compares the ten highest entries in SalaryLeaks’ list, last updated June 10, 2026, with the corresponding figures in The National’s 2025/26 list, published August 9, 2025 and marked updated August 3, 2026. Amounts are reported estimates, not a verified club payroll. Where The National does not list a player among the names below, the cell says so rather than implying a wage.
| Player | SalaryLeaks estimate per week | The National estimate per week |
|---|---|---|
| Casemiro | £350,000 | £350,000 |
| Bruno Fernandes | £300,000 | £300,000 |
| Mason Mount | £200,000 | £250,000 |
| Matthijs de Ligt | £195,000 | £195,000 |
| Benjamin Sesko | £160,000 | £160,000 |
| Luke Shaw | £150,000 | £150,000 |
| Bryan Mbeumo | £150,000 | £150,000 |
| Matheus Cunha | £150,000 | £180,000 |
| Harry Maguire | £150,000 | £190,000 |
| Kobbie Mainoo | £150,000 | Not listed among The National’s reported top earners |
| Noussair Mazraoui | Not listed among SalaryLeaks’ ten highest entries | £135,000 |
SalaryLeaks says it compiles estimates from club wage bills in UEFA annual financial reports, reliable UK football publications and reported individual contract details; it describes its verified mark as indicating salary details reported by trusted tier-one journalists and media outlets. The National says its figures were compiled from reports, Spotrac and Capology. Neither list establishes that every amount is calculated on the same basis or that bonuses and conditional pay are treated consistently. Where the salary estimates disagree
Both lists put Casemiro and Fernandes first and second, respectively. They also match on de Ligt and Sesko among these top earners. The larger gaps in the overlapping names are for Mount, Maguire and Cunha: The National’s estimates are £50,000, £40,000 and £30,000 a week higher than SalaryLeaks’ figures. Those are differences between published estimates, not evidence of a change in any player’s contract.

The National’s list also includes Mazraoui at £135,000 a week, while SalaryLeaks’ ten highest entries include Mainoo instead. This reflects the lists’ reported entries and ranking cutoffs; it does not establish a complete, official ranking of every player’s compensation.

Manchester United plc’s 2026 Form 20-F reports consolidated financial information for the year ended June 30, 2026. Its accessible filing material covers company financials and compensation at an aggregate level, not the individual weekly salaries shown in these public lists. It therefore cannot be used to confirm a particular player’s wage. Manchester United plc 2026 Form 20-F.

FBref’s 2025/26 wage page attributes its table to Capology, and its search-result information corroborates reported amounts for Casemiro, Fernandes, de Ligt and Maguire. The page was not independently reviewable in full, so that evidence is corroboration only, not a basis for resolving the conflicting estimates. FBref’s Manchester United wage page.

How to compare a player salary list
- Check the publication and update dates. SalaryLeaks’ page is dated June 10, 2026. The National’s article is dated August 9, 2025 and carries an August 3, 2026 update stamp; the two dates help explain why the lists may reflect different snapshots.
- Confirm the period and units. These figures are expressed as weekly amounts. Do not compare them with annual totals without checking the calculation and its assumptions.
- Look at the source’s method. The two publishers describe different inputs, and neither provides a reconciliation of every underlying contract term.
- Check what pay is included. The available lists do not reconcile bonuses or conditional pay, so their figures should not be treated as directly comparable measures of total compensation.
- Keep rankings source-specific. Where estimates diverge, report both figures and name their sources rather than combining them into a single precise wage.
