Four former workers sued singer and influencer Malu Trevejo and MLT World LLC in Miami-Dade County in January 2023, alleging workplace misconduct and seeking up to $4 million in damages. That figure was the plaintiffs’ demand in their initial complaint—not a court award or confirmed payment. The available filings and reporting describe allegations and procedural developments, but do not establish the final disposition of the remaining claims.
What the lawsuit alleged
Victoria Barreto, Ralph Colon, Edwardo Vidal, and Witchneverson Lacroix filed the case on January 10, 2023, in Florida’s Eleventh Judicial Circuit in and for Miami-Dade County. They named Trevejo, professionally known as Malu Trevejo, and MLT World LLC as defendants. The initial complaint described Barreto and Lacroix as personal assistants, Colon as a security guard or bodyguard, and Vidal as an assistant and co-manager, with employment periods spanning 2021 and 2022.
The plaintiffs alleged workplace misconduct including harassment, battery, defamation, sexual misconduct, and emotional harm. Reporting based on the complaint described allegations of unwanted sexual advances toward Barreto and verbal mistreatment. Billboard quoted the complaint’s characterization that the plaintiffs “endured mental, emotional, sexual and physical punishment.” These are claims made by plaintiffs, not findings established by the sources cited here.
What the $4 million figure means
The initial complaint sought damages not exceeding $4,000,000, exclusive of interest, costs, fees, and punitive damages. It was the maximum amount requested in that pleading, not money awarded by a judge, a settlement amount, or evidence that Trevejo or MLT World paid the workers. How the case changed after filing
Lacroix’s claims were dismissed
A March 2023 report said Lacroix voluntarily dismissed his claims with prejudice. Trevejo’s attorney, Jason Ziven, told the outlet: “We are happy with that result and will keep vigorously defending Malu and her name against the other plaintiffs.” The reported dismissal concerns Lacroix; it does not establish what happened to the other plaintiffs’ claims. The 2024 amended complaint named three plaintiffs
A second amended complaint filed June 3, 2024, names Barreto, Colon, and Vidal, invokes the Fair Labor Standards Act and Florida common law, and identifies the case as 2023-000346-CA-01. A Trellis case listing labels the case “CLOSED,” but the materials available here do not identify a final judgment, settlement, or the disposition of each remaining claim. A closed label alone does not explain whether claims ended through a ruling, settlement, dismissal, or another procedural event.

What is—and is not—established
- Established by the filings and contemporaneous accounts: four former workers filed the original suit against Trevejo and MLT World in January 2023; the complaint sought damages up to $4 million; and Lacroix’s claims were reported dismissed with prejudice in March 2023.
- Not established by the sources cited here: that the alleged misconduct occurred as described, that a court found Trevejo or MLT World liable, that the defendants paid $4 million, or how each remaining claim was resolved.
The distinction matters: allegations in a civil complaint are not proof, and a demand for damages is not a judgment. The later case listing gives a status label but not enough detail to responsibly describe the remaining claims’ final outcome.
