The MahaTransco drive advertised as “3,000+ Technician posts” was a 2024 recruitment cycle, not an open application opportunity. A 2024 Scroll.in report counted 3,644 vacancies across Advertisements 07/2024, 08/2024 and 10/2024. MahaTransco’s status notice dated 18 July 2025 said selection and document verification had taken place and appointment orders had been issued. Candidates seeking a current opening should check the latest notices in the official MahaTransco Careers section; the old application route should not be treated as active.
What the 3,644-post headline covered
The “3,000+” figure was a rounded description of vacancies reported across three separate advertisements. Scroll.in reported the following counts in 2024:
| Advertisement | Reported vacancies |
|---|---|
| 07/2024 | 604 (Scroll.in, 2024) |
| 08/2024 | 2,623 (Scroll.in, 2024) |
| 10/2024 | 417 (Scroll.in, 2024) |
| Total across the three advertisements | 3,644 (sum of the counts reported by Scroll.in, 2024) |
These were distinct advertisements, not one uniform Technician vacancy with a single eligibility standard. The original report directed applicants to the relevant notice for each post’s requirements. It does not establish one common qualification, age limit, pay scale, reservation rule or fee for all posts.
Can you still apply through the old direct link?
No. The application instructions in the 2024 report—visit mahatransco.in, open Careers, then choose the online application notice for Advertisements 07/2024, 08/2024 and 10/2024—refer to that historical drive. MahaTransco’s official notice dated 18 July 2025 records later selection steps and the issue of appointment orders. Do not use an old application notice as evidence that applications remain open.

For any separate or newer vacancy, go to the official MahaTransco website and check its Careers section for a current advertisement, application link and deadline. The status of other recruitment cycles is not established by the notices described here, so a new opening should be verified independently rather than assumed to be part of this drive.
Technician-1 and Technician-2 exam dates
MahaTransco scheduled separate examinations for the Technician posts under Advertisement 07/2024 and internal notification 10/2024:
Rank #2
- Technician-2 (Transmission System): 27 January 2025.
- Technician-1 (Transmission System): 31 January 2025.
These are the scheduled dates stated in MahaTransco’s examination notice, not upcoming exam dates.
What MahaTransco said about selection and appointments
In a notice dated 18 July 2025, signed by the Chief General Manager (HR), MahaTransco said provisional select and wait lists were displayed on 15 and 16 April 2025. Document verification was held from 19 to 23 May 2025. After eligibility review, candidates were allotted to zones; the notice states: “The appointment orders have been issued by respective Zones Offices.”
