What happened at Luma Protocol’s launch?
A press release distributed on September 24, 2025, reported that Luma Protocol had announced its launch on September 20. The release said the presale opened at 12:00 UTC+8 and that the first mining rewards were released at 24:00 UTC+8 that day. Those times and events are what the release reported; they do not independently establish that the launch proceeded as described or that rewards reached users.
The release called the announcement a “historic milestone for decentralized finance.” That is promotional language from the release, not an independent assessment of Luma’s significance. The available material does not establish the protocol’s current operating status.
What does Luma mean by “DeFi 3.0” and hash-power aggregation?
Luma’s website describes the project as a “DeFi 3.0 hash power aggregation platform” and says it was jointly launched by the PopChain public chain and the Nivex exchange. These are the project’s descriptions; the available sources do not independently confirm the partners’ roles or establish “DeFi 3.0” as a standardized industry category.

According to the site, the model combines hash-power mining, a POP/LUMA dual-token system, node governance, and financial applications. In broad terms, hash power refers to computing capacity used in mining. But the sources do not verify what computing resources Luma has access to, how much is allocated, how rewards are calculated, or how any mining activity connects to LUMA distributions. The phrase “hash-power aggregation” alone does not demonstrate that computing capacity backs a reward.
What does the project claim about LUMA’s supply and safeguards?
Luma’s website, which did not state a publication date in the material reviewed, makes several token and financial-protection claims. They should be read as project marketing, not independently verified terms:
- Total supply: 210 million tokens.
- Insurance pool: 50%. The material reviewed does not specify enough independently verified policy terms or reserve evidence to establish what the percentage means, what losses it covers, or whether funds are available to meet claims.
- Daily burn: an automatic 0.5% burn each day.
- Sell-transaction burn: 55% of each sell transaction burned.
- Nivex trading volume: “up to $1 billion in daily trading volume,” as claimed by Luma’s site; this figure was not independently verified.
The sources do not establish that these mechanisms have been implemented, how their calculations work, or what their economic effects would be. A stated supply or burn rate does not by itself establish a token’s value or the sustainability of rewards. Nor does an “insurance pool” label show that a user’s principal is protected.
How does the stated onboarding route work—and what remains uncertain?
Luma’s website instructs prospective users to register on Nivex, buy POP with USDT, create a TokenPocket wallet, transfer POP, connect the wallet to Luma, and convert POP into hash power. These are the project’s published onboarding directions, not an endorsement or confirmation that the services, steps, or assets are currently available or safe to use.

- Register on Nivex.
- Buy POP with USDT.
- Create a TokenPocket wallet.
- Transfer POP to that wallet.
- Connect the wallet to Luma.
- Convert POP into hash power through the Luma interface.
Before acting on those instructions, a reader would need current, independently verifiable information about the services and the transaction path. The available sources do not establish current availability, contract behavior, withdrawal conditions, or whether a user can recover funds if a step fails. Treat a wallet connection, token purchase, or transfer as a financial action—not as a harmless registration step.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What should a prospective user verify before committing funds?
The available sources do not establish independent audit findings, on-chain verification of the described mechanisms, or the amount of real hash power allocated to Luma. They also do not verify execution of the advertised burns, available insurance reserves, current product availability, or independent confirmation of the named partners’ roles. These points remain unresolved; their absence from the available material is not proof that a check failed or that a particular mechanism does not exist.
For a meaningful assessment, look for evidence that can be checked independently rather than relying on the project’s labels or promised outcomes:
- Computing resources: identifiable evidence of the mining resources, their allocation, and the method used to calculate user rewards.
- Contracts and audits: contract addresses and audit reports that can be checked against the deployed contracts and the auditor’s own publication.
- Token mechanics: on-chain evidence and clear rules for issuance, daily burns, and the claimed sell-transaction burn.
- Insurance terms: a defined pool denominator, verifiable reserves, coverage conditions, exclusions, and a claims process.
- Access to funds: current liquidity, withdrawal rules, fees, and any restrictions on selling or transferring tokens.
- Current product status: confirmation that the exchange route, wallet connection, and Luma interface still work as described.
Without that evidence, a launch announcement and a set of tokenomics figures are not enough to establish that the product works as marketed or that participation offers a dependable return.
