Lucid announced on November 5, 2025, that Eric Bach, its Senior Vice President of Product and Chief Engineer, had departed. The company thanked him for his contributions but gave no reason. In December, Bach sued Lucid, alleging discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination; Lucid disputed his claims. TechCrunch reported on June 9, 2026, that the case had been stayed pending arbitration.

What Lucid announced about Eric Bach’s departure

Lucid’s November 5, 2025 announcement said: “As part of these changes, Eric Bach, Senior Vice President of Product and Chief Engineer, has departed Lucid. The company thanks him for his contributions over the past decade.” The statement confirmed his departure but did not explain why it happened. Lucid’s announcement

TechCrunch reported that Bach joined Lucid in 2015, after working at Tesla and Volkswagen, and described his tenure as more than a decade. Lucid’s own wording was the rounded phrase “the past decade”; the public accounts cited here do not specify an exact employment end date. TechCrunch’s November 2025 report

Why did Bach leave Lucid?

Lucid did not give a reason when it announced his departure. The reason became contested in December, when Bach filed a lawsuit alleging discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination. According to reporting by The Drive and Bach’s law firm, he alleged that he had complained about discrimination and a hostile work environment before being pushed out. These are allegations by Bach, not findings by a court. The Drive’s account of the lawsuit

What Lucid said in response

Lucid rejected Bach’s claims. In a response quoted by The Drive on December 9, 2025, the company said: “In our opinion, Mr. Bach’s legal claims are absurd. We are confident that the facts revealed through the course of litigation will establish the legitimate issues leading to Mr. Bach’s termination.” That is Lucid’s position, just as the discrimination and retaliation claims are Bach’s; neither account should be treated as an adjudicated conclusion.

How the departure fit into Lucid’s leadership changes

Lucid’s November announcement also described changes to engineering and quality leadership. Emad Dlala took on oversight of “Engineering and Digital,” while Jeri Ford retired and Marnie Levergood succeeded her in quality. TechCrunch separately reported that Vice President of Engineering James Hawkins was no longer with the company; Lucid declined to comment specifically on Hawkins. The broader reshuffle provides organizational context, but the announcements do not establish that it caused Bach’s departure or any particular business outcome. TechCrunch’s November 2025 report

Latest reported status of Bach’s lawsuit

On June 9, 2026, TechCrunch reported that the case had been stayed pending arbitration. A stay is a procedural update, not a ruling on whether Bach’s allegations or Lucid’s response are correct. The cited coverage does not establish a final outcome or a later status. TechCrunch’s June 2026 report
