One candidate’s Graduate Engineer Trainee campus experience for the 2025 batch involved an online assessment, a technical interview, and an HR interview. The candidate reported aptitude, programming and communication sections in the assessment, followed by questions on C++, object-oriented programming, SQL, projects and resume details. This is an account of one 2024 drive—not a guaranteed or current LTIMindtree process.
What was the reported interview process?
The first-person account, published on GeeksforGeeks and last updated on 24 December 2024, describes a Graduate Engineer Trainee recruitment process conducted from August to November 2024. Its author called the assessment an elimination round and described three stages: an online assessment, a technical interview and an HR interview. The author also wrote, “The recruitment process involved three online rounds, and here’s a detailed account of my journey.” Treat that as the candidate’s description, not an official company statement. The candidate reported four timed sections:

The author described the test as easy to moderate; that is a subjective impression, not a measure that predicts another candidate’s experience. Other campus accounts describe different assessment content. A LeetCode Discuss account, for example, mentions English comprehension, logical and quantitative ability, programming and spoken English. See that separate candidate account. Check the instructions from your college placement cell and the communication for your particular role rather than assuming the sections or timings will match.

What did the technical interview cover?
The candidate said the technical interview lasted about 30 minutes. Topics included C++ output questions; interfaces and abstract classes; SQL queries, database keys and normal forms; behavioral questions; and the candidate’s resume and projects. Project discussion covered the technology stack, implementation and challenges.
How to prepare to explain a project
- Summarize the problem your project addresses and your role in building it.
- Explain the technology choices and how the main parts work together.
- Be ready to describe a technical challenge, the options you considered and how you handled it.
- Review every tool or skill listed on your resume well enough to discuss how you used it.

What happened in the HR interview?
The same candidate reported an HR conversation of about five minutes. Questions covered a self-introduction, how the assessment went, willingness to relocate, shift flexibility and location preference. A separate candidate account also mentions relocation, shifts and why they wanted to join LTIMindtree. The short duration belongs to the first candidate’s experience and should not be treated as a typical interview length.

- Choose a programming language to review thoroughly. Practice its fundamentals and basic problem-solving; the matching account specifically mentions C++ output questions.
- Refresh core computer-science topics. Review data structures and algorithms, object-oriented programming, and DBMS and SQL—including keys, queries and normal forms.
- Practice speaking about your own work. Rehearse a concise walkthrough of each relevant project, including your contribution, design choices, implementation and challenges.
- Prepare behavioral examples. Have concise, truthful examples ready for strengths, weaknesses and situational reasoning, along with clear answers about relocation, shift flexibility and preferred location.
- Follow the current drive instructions. Assessment sections and interview sequences differ across candidate reports, so use the role-specific communication and your college placement cell’s guidance.
A data structures and algorithms interview-preparation book may be one optional study resource, but no particular book was endorsed in the candidate accounts.

The GeeksforGeeks author reported that approximately 50% of shortlisted candidates were selected in that drive.
