How the $20 million Superdraw worked
Lotterywest announced the draw on 26 July 2024 as a Superdraw, a Saturday Lotto event with a Division One prize pool raised to $20 million. If more than one entry won Division One, the pool would be shared among those winning entries. Lotterywest describes a Superdraw as a chance to “win a share in a $20 million Division 1 prize pool” (Lotterywest’s Superdraw FAQ).
Saturday Lotto draws six main numbers from 1 to 45, plus two supplementary numbers. Matching all six main numbers wins Division One; supplementary numbers determine outcomes in specified lower divisions. Lotterywest’s current game description estimates a $6 million Division One pool for a standard Saturday Lotto draw, compared with $20 million for a Superdraw. Odds and what they mean
Lotterywest lists the Division One odds for one Saturday Lotto game entry as 1 in 8,145,060 (responsible-play guidance, accessed 2026). That figure is for a single entry, not the odds of winning any prize. Lotterywest says there is no skill or strategy that increases a player’s chance of winning. Number choices do not make a particular entry more likely to match the draw.

What Lotterywest said about the 2024 draw
In its 26 July 2024 announcement, Lotterywest said 26 West Australians had won Division One prizes worth more than $32 million so far that year, including 13 wins through Saturday Lotto. It also cited the preceding May Superdraw, when a WA network syndicate ticket was among four national Division One wins sharing a $5 million prize. That example illustrates that a large pool can be divided among multiple winning entries; it was not the result of the July draw.
Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender forecast that ticket sales would peak between 11am and noon on 26 July, at around 500 tickets per minute. This was an expectation reported before the draw, not a confirmed sales count. Lotterywest said entries were available through its retail outlets, online and the Lotterywest App.

Lotterywest grants and community funding
Lotterywest said available profits from Superdraw tickets go back to local community groups as grants. Its 2024 announcement cited a $1.8 million grant to UnitingCare West to support a transitional housing facility and services for older women at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness. The grant was an example of community funding, not a payment to the draw’s winners.

The $20 million draw in this announcement was scheduled for 27 July 2024. Lotterywest later reported a separate Superdraw held on 5 September 2026: it had nine Division One winners nationally, including two WA tickets worth about $2.22 million each, and raised more than $3.5 million for Lotterywest grants (Lotterywest media releases). Those figures belong to the 2026 draw and are not the outcome of the 2024 event.
