For a regular in-store paper receipt, Dollar General’s published guidance does not confirm that a store can look up or reprint a duplicate. If you need to return an item, the company says merchandise returned without a receipt will be exchanged for merchandise or a gift card of equal value, subject to the applicable policy.
Can Dollar General reprint a lost in-store receipt?
Dollar General’s public guidance reviewed for this article does not say that a regular register receipt from an in-store purchase can be retrieved or reprinted. Contact the store where you bought the item or Dollar General customer support and ask what transaction information or other proof they can accept. A reprint is not guaranteed.
When you call or visit, it may help to have the approximate purchase date and time, store location, purchase total, and the payment card or transaction record, if applicable. These details can help staff understand which purchase you mean, but Dollar General’s published materials do not promise they will allow the transaction to be found.
Find a digital receipt for an app or online order
DG Pickup
Check Order History in the DG App or at DG.com, and search your email for the “DG Pickup Complete” message. Dollar General says the order details and completion email can serve as a receipt. The same DG Brands guidance describes the available proof of order and receipt-less return terms.

DG Delivery
Dollar General says DG Delivery orders receive a digital receipt by email. For an in-store return, logged-in customers can look for a return barcode on the order details page; the “DG Delivery Complete” email may also include the barcode. DG GO!
Dollar General’s Terms & Conditions say a digital receipt is emailed for DG GO! purchases. The return barcode is at the bottom of that receipt or in the account’s order history.

What if you want to return the item, not replace the receipt?
Dollar General’s DG Brands FAQ says merchandise returned without a receipt will be exchanged for merchandise of equal value or a gift card of equal value. That is the published no-receipt outcome; it is not a promise of a cash refund or a duplicate paper receipt.
The same FAQ’s 90-day window and original-packaging terms are stated for returns with a receipt. Do not assume those conditions apply identically to every product or purchase channel: check the current guidance for the merchandise and transaction in question, or ask the store before making the trip.

If you cannot find an order record or barcode, use Dollar General’s Order Help page for self-service options and customer care. For a paper receipt from a standard in-store transaction, contact the store or customer support and ask what they can do; the public guidance cited here does not establish a receipt-reprint process.
