LOGIX Fiber Networks announced plans on February 23, 2026, to invest in high-capacity fiber routes serving two Texas data-center growth corridors: South Dallas and Austin–Bastrop. The company says the routes are intended to add bandwidth and route diversity for hyperscale and multi-tenant data centers, but its announcement gives neither the investment amount nor a completion date. The plans should not be read as confirmation that the named campuses are already connected.

Where LOGIX says it is building

South Dallas

LOGIX named Wilmer, Red Oak, Lancaster, and Midlothian as South Dallas build locations. Its stated objective includes redundant connectivity between data-center concentrations and carrier hubs in downtown Dallas and Fort Worth. The February 23 announcement describes planned routes, not completed connections. LOGIX’s announcement

Austin–Bastrop

In Central Texas, LOGIX said it was building routes from downtown Austin toward Bastrop County. It described the routes as extending beyond existing connections at Switch, Sabey, and Skybox in Round Rock and Pflugerville, and named DataBank, Stack Infrastructure, and NTT Data among the campuses the infrastructure is designed to serve. Those are company-stated targets; the release does not establish that every named campus has been connected.

What the routes are intended to support

LOGIX says rising bandwidth needs and route density from AI-driven hyperscale and multi-tenant data centers are behind the investment. High-capacity fiber moves data between facilities and carrier networks; additional route options can give operators more choices if a path is interrupted. LOGIX CEO Greg O’Connor said the high-count conduits are intended to meet “the massive bandwidth and density requirements of the AI era.” This describes the company’s rationale, not an independently verified performance guarantee.

The announcement does not state the cost of the South Dallas and Austin–Bastrop projects or when construction will be complete. Until routes are confirmed as built and available, organizations should treat the named locations and campuses as planned coverage, not orderable service.

How the announcement fits Texas data-center growth

Data Center Knowledge reported on February 23, 2026, that the Dallas–Fort Worth market had 190 data centers as of late 2025. Its report also cited several distinct measures of planned or existing activity:

  • A Stack Infrastructure campus in Lancaster was reported at 220 MW on more than 100 acres.
  • Google was reported to have committed $600 million across Red Oak and Midlothian.
  • QTS Realty Trust was reported to plan $650 million in new construction near Wilmer and Lancaster.
  • CBRE, as cited by Data Center Knowledge, projected that recently completed and under-construction activity could double the Dallas–Fort Worth market by the end of 2026; the report also cited 425.1 MW of colocation space as preleased.

For Central Texas, Data Center Knowledge cited 463.5 MW of data-center construction during 2023–2024, attributed to Industry Intelligence, and an Austin market valuation of 1.54 GW in 2025, attributed to Mordor Intelligence. It also summarized a JLL projection that Texas could overtake Northern Virginia as the world’s largest data-center market by 2030. These figures describe different things—facility counts, construction power, market capacity, and preleasing—and should not be added together or treated as interchangeable. They are secondary-source reporting and forecasts, not confirmed future outcomes. Data Center Knowledge

LOGIX’s February announcement quoted O’Connor saying Texas was the country’s fastest-growing data-center market and that its network already connected more than 75 data centers. That was the CEO’s characterization at announcement time. In a separate June 15, 2026 company announcement, LOGIX said it had connectivity to more than 80 data centers across Texas and described dozens of 400 Gig wavelength services connecting Houston, Austin, Dallas, and Fort Worth for a global technology customer. Those counts and deployment details are company-reported, not independent market measurements.

What a business evaluating fiber service should verify

A route announcement alone does not determine whether a specific facility can order service. LOGIX describes offerings including wavelengths, dark fiber, Dedicated Internet Access, Ethernet, and voice solutions for enterprise, carrier, and hyperscale customers. Its Austin-area materials describe 100 and 400 gigabit connectivity options and dark fiber, and a ring configuration intended to improve survivability if a route is cut; this is a description of network design, not a guaranteed uptime level.

  • Facility-level reach: Confirm availability for the exact data center, building, and meet-me room rather than relying on a city or corridor announcement. LOGIX provides a network map and building availability lookup on its locations page.
  • Route diversity: Ask whether paths are physically diverse and what happens if a conduit or other shared infrastructure is damaged.
  • Capacity and upgrades: Compare current capacity, upgrade options, and the service’s delivery model.
  • Latency and path: Request the expected path between the actual facilities involved; corridor proximity alone does not establish latency.
  • Service scope: Distinguish managed wavelength or Ethernet service from dark fiber, which places more network operation and equipment responsibility with the customer.
  • Terms and timing: Obtain current pricing, construction dependencies, delivery dates, and service-level terms directly from the provider.

LOGIX’s route investment is aimed at two specific growth corridors, while the wider Texas buildout is documented through market estimates that use different measures. For a prospective customer, the practical question is whether a finished route reaches its facility on suitable terms—not whether a planned corridor appears on a map.
