The figure is a ceiling, not a settled payment, and the public reporting says little beyond that.
What was announced
Investing.com reported on October 9, 2026 that Lite-On Technology had announced that its subsidiary Lite-on, Inc. signed a construction contract for a building project in McKinney, Texas. According to that report, the contract is valued at up to $348 million, and the report cites a filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange as the source of the disclosure. The filing itself was not reviewed for this article, so the details below are the report’s account of it.
What “up to $348 million” means
The phrase describes a maximum contract value. The report states that the final contract amount depends on actual settlement, meaning the amount that is ultimately agreed and paid once the work and its costs are determined. A contract value of this kind can end up higher or lower than the headline figure, depending on the terms in the signed agreement, which the report does not describe.
For readers used to company news, the practical point is simple: treat $348 million as the upper limit disclosed at signing, not as revenue, profit, or money already spent.

Why a personal-finance reader might care
A single construction contract rarely changes a household’s finances directly. For investors, though, a disclosed contract ceiling is one data point among many. It is worth checking whether the contract is large relative to the company’s overall revenue, which only its full financial statements can show, and whether it is a one-off project or part of a recurring pattern. Those questions can be answered from the company’s own reports rather than from a headline.
