Reports published in January 2026 instead describe an original demand of ₹1,05,21,897, plus recovery of ₹11,29,639 in excess input tax credit, with applicable interest and penalties. The company was reported to intend an appeal, but its filing and outcome have not been established.
What the reports say the original order covered
Secondary reports say Link Pharma Chem received a demand order from the Assistant Commissioner, Central GST & Central Excise, Vadodara, concerning FY 2021–22. They put the GST demand at ₹1,05,21,897 and separately describe recovery of ₹11,29,639 in excess input tax credit (ITC). Interest and penalties were also reported as applicable. These are reported figures from the demand, not confirmation of the company’s final tax liability.

The reported grounds were two alleged discrepancies: a mismatch between tax liability declared in GSTR-1 and tax paid through GSTR-3B, and import-related ITC claimed by the company that was not reflected in GSTR-2A. The reports describe the department’s stated basis for the demand; they do not establish that an appellate authority later upheld those allegations.
Why ₹16.3 lakh cannot yet be treated as the revised amount
The ₹16.3 lakh figure appears in the headline claim, but the available material does not corroborate it with a later order, an exchange disclosure or reliable reporting. It is therefore not possible to say whether a reduction occurred, which part of the demand it might cover, or whether the figure includes tax, ITC recovery, interest or penalties.
#1 Best Overall
That distinction matters because the reported case has more than one component: a GST demand and a separate ITC recovery, with interest and penalties potentially adding further amounts. A later figure should not be compared with the original total unless the order specifies which components were changed and what remained payable.
Appeal status and reported dates
ScanX reported on 28 January 2026 that the company planned to appeal and said the matter would have no material operational impact. The reporting does not establish whether an appeal was actually filed or what decision followed. A MarketScreener item attributed to S&P Capital IQ says the company received the order on 27 January 2026. Both dates come from secondary reporting; the underlying exchange filing was not available in the material reviewed.

Accordingly, neither the plan to appeal nor the reported assessment of operational impact should be read as an appeal outcome or a finding that the demand was set aside. The status of the dispute remains unresolved on the evidence available here.

To verify a cut to ₹16.3 lakh, readers would need a later official record, such as Link Pharma Chem’s exchange disclosure or the relevant authority’s appeal order. That record should identify the issuing authority and date, set out the original and revised amounts, and clarify how it treats the GST demand, ITC recovery, interest and penalties. It should also show whether the decision is final or remains appealable.

Until such a document or credible report is available, the accurate account is that reports describe an original FY22 demand and ITC recovery, while the claimed reduction to ₹16.3 lakh remains unverified.
