How much did Lilo & Stitch make opening weekend?
“Opening weekend” can mean either the standard three-day Friday-to-Sunday period or the four-day Memorial Day frame. For a like-for-like comparison with Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, use the three-day domestic totals for May 23–25.

Those current database totals put Lilo & Stitch about $82 million ahead for the three-day weekend, making it the domestic No. 1. Earlier Sunday estimates were lower: ScreenDollars reported $145.5 million for Lilo & Stitch and $63.0 million for The Final Reckoning on May 25, 2025. What Memorial Day box-office record did Lilo & Stitch break?
Across the four-day domestic holiday window, Friday, May 23, through Monday, May 26, Lilo & Stitch grossed $182,600,626, according to its current Box Office Mojo listing. That made it the biggest four-day Memorial Day opening in domestic box-office history. Disney’s May 27, 2025 announcement rounded the domestic total to $182.7 million and reported $361.3 million worldwide at that point. Those are the studio’s rounded, four-day-era figures, while Box Office Mojo’s $182,600,626 is the more precise current listing for the domestic holiday window. How much did Mission: Impossible make over Memorial Day weekend?
For the directly comparable three-day domestic opening, The Final Reckoning earned $64,036,428 in Box Office Mojo’s current chart. The May 25 contemporary estimate was $63.0 million. It finished second to Lilo & Stitch, but its launch was a franchise record at the time: the Associated Press reported the estimate as above the $61 million three-day opening for Mission: Impossible – Fallout in 2018.

Keep the release windows distinct when comparing franchise figures. Dead Reckoning Part One had an $80 million five-day launch, a different-length frame that should not be treated as a three-day weekend comparison. Why was the 2025 Memorial Day weekend so large?
The two major releases helped make the holiday frame unusually strong overall. ScreenDollars reported a $262.0 million domestic total for all films over the Memorial Day weekend on May 25, describing it as 48% above the prior Memorial Day weekend record. That is a contemporaneous report, not a later finalized all-film tally. The result reflects the combined box office across titles; the reported total alone does not establish how much of the overall increase either film caused.

Walt Disney Studios UK Press reported on July 17, 2025, after eight weekends, that Lilo & Stitch had passed $1 billion worldwide, with $416.2 million domestic and $584.8 million international at that milestone. The same report said more than 640 million hours of the original animated classic and related content had been watched on Disney+ globally. Those are July milestone-era figures, not opening-weekend totals. Box Office Mojo’s current cumulative listing gives the film about $1.038 billion worldwide.
