What happened to the Labor Day deals?
The 2026 Labor Day shopping window has passed. Best Buy’s official Top Deals page lists the sale end as September 7, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Central Time. It also notes that sale dates and offers can vary, quantities are limited, rainchecks are unavailable, and exclusions may apply.

Contemporaneous coverage described discounts across Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart, including televisions, appliances, patio and outdoor products, clothing and footwear, mattresses and bedding, kitchen goods, beauty items and travel products. NBC Select reported Best Buy discounts of up to 45% on select major appliances during the promotion; that was a seasonal offer, not evidence of an October price. NBC Select’s Labor Day coverage and Tom’s Guide’s roundup are useful as records of what was covered, not as live inventory feeds.
How to judge a deal that is available now
A holiday discount label does not establish that an item is a good value. Compare the exact model and the price you will actually pay, then weigh the purchase against your need and timing.

- Match the exact product. Check model numbers, size, capacity, included accessories and other specifications. Similar-looking products may not be equivalent.
- Calculate the total cost. Include delivery, installation or other required charges where applicable. A lower displayed price may not mean a lower final bill.
- Read the terms. Confirm stock, pickup or delivery options, return conditions, exclusions and any other conditions attached to the offer.
- Use a reference price carefully. A crossed-out price or percentage-off claim is not, by itself, proof of savings against a price you would otherwise pay. Compare the current price for the exact model across retailers when possible.
- Buy for the need, not the calendar. If the item is not urgent, waiting may be reasonable; if it is, assess the current listing on its own merits rather than assuming a past holiday price will return.
What to know about October sales
Kiplinger reported that Amazon Prime Big Deal Days ran October 6–7, 2026, and had ended by October 8. That timing does not establish what Amazon, Best Buy or Walmart is offering separately now. Check the retailer’s current product page before relying on a price or availability claim. Kiplinger’s coverage describes that October event, not a guarantee of ongoing deals.
