The available information does not establish that Kraken’s final approval or launch has since occurred. Fees also depend on the route: Binance’s announced AED cash-withdrawal charge, for example, is not a spot-trading or crypto-network fee.
Quick comparison: AED access and local service status
| Platform and local entity | AED access and features described | What the available information establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Kraken / Payward | Kraken’s May 21, 2026 announcement described planned AED funding and withdrawals through a local subsidiary, access to global order books, and proposed spot, margin, OTC, staking, Krak user transfers, and Kraken Prime services for institutions. | The announcement reported preliminary approval from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) and said the full service offer depended on final licensure. It does not establish final approval or that the services launched. Confirm current status before treating Kraken as an available UAE AED option. |
| OKX Middle East Fintech FZE | OKX describes AED trading pairs and direct AED deposits and withdrawals from a UAE local bank account. It also describes derivatives and margin, subject to a suitability assessment. | OKX says UAE service is provided by its VARA-licensed and regulated local entity. Its relevant page was updated August 11, 2026. Account onboarding, particular pairs, bank routes, and products can still vary by user. |
| Binance FZE / Binance Dubai | Binance describes AED bank transfers, AED spot pairs, trading and conversion, and withdrawals to a UAE bank account for eligible users. | Its UAE FAQ says users must be onboarded to Binance FZE and use a bank account in their own name. The announced funding terms are specific to eligible users and should be checked against live account options and limits. |
This is a comparison of what the cited company materials describe, not a guarantee that every UAE resident can open every account or use every feature. Check the contracting entity shown during onboarding, the products enabled for your account, and the exact AED route available before depositing.

Think of local access as several separate checks rather than a single yes-or-no question: can you onboard to the local entity, can you fund it in AED, is the market you want listed in AED, and can you withdraw through the method you need? A platform may meet one of those needs without offering every product or route to every account. A stated local service is not a promise that your bank, account status, or selected asset will support the same options.

If direct AED bank funding is the priority
OKX and Binance describe local AED bank rails. OKX’s page specifies deposits and withdrawals from a UAE local bank account; Binance describes eligible users funding from and withdrawing to a UAE bank account, with onboarding to Binance FZE. These descriptions make the two platforms more directly comparable for AED cash movement than Kraken’s May 2026 announcement, which made planned AED services contingent on final licensure.

That distinction is about the evidence of service status, not a blanket recommendation. Before choosing, verify that the bank method appears in your own account, what limits apply, how long the transfer is expected to take, and whether your bank or payment provider imposes a charge. The materials cited here do not establish current account-specific limits or processing times.
For Binance, the cited FAQ identifies bank transfer as the current AED deposit method and says the account must be in the user’s own name. That is a practical eligibility check: a transfer from a differently named account may not satisfy the stated requirement. Do not assume a payment option shown in another region, or in a general product description, will appear for a UAE account. Confirm the route and any limits in the account before initiating a transfer.
If you want to trade an AED pair
OKX and Binance describe AED pairs for UAE users. Confirm the exact asset and pair in the trading screen: an exchange’s general statement that AED pairs are available does not mean every asset has an AED market, or that a pair is enabled for every account.

Do not infer an AED trading market from a general reference to AED deposits or withdrawals.
Pair selection affects the cost comparison as well as convenience. If the asset you want is not quoted in AED, you may need a different market or conversion step. That can introduce another price and fee consideration. The cited materials do not establish one universal FX or conversion charge, so compare the actual order or conversion preview rather than assuming that an AED deposit means every trade is executed directly against AED.

If you need a particular product
OKX describes derivatives and margin as subject to a suitability assessment. Kraken’s announcement listed several proposed service categories, including margin, OTC and staking, but tied the full offer to final licensure. Binance’s cited UAE material describes bank transfers and AED spot pairs; it does not establish that every other product is available to every UAE user. Product access should be checked separately from the ability to fund an account.
The Kraken announcement also named Krak user transfers and Kraken Prime for institutions. Those are distinct from a retail AED bank transfer or an ordinary spot order: their inclusion in a proposed service list does not show that they are live, available to every customer, or included in the same service scope. Institutions comparing a prime service should verify its availability and terms directly; retail users should focus on the features actually enabled in their account.

An exchange’s “fee” is not one number. A useful comparison separates cash entering and leaving the platform from the cost of buying or selling crypto, then adds any cost of withdrawing crypto to another wallet. The quoted AED payment charge alone cannot tell you which route is cheaper overall.
| Cost category | What the cited sources say | How to compare it |
|---|---|---|
| AED deposit | Binance announced a zero AED deposit fee for eligible users using its UAE service. OKX’s cited material describes direct AED bank deposits but does not state a comparable fixed AED deposit charge. Kraken’s May announcement described planned AED funding, not an established UAE tariff. | Check the payment method and any bank or provider charge shown for your transfer. Do not assume a platform’s fee is the only cost of a bank payment. |
| AED cash withdrawal | Binance’s June 2, 2026 announcement stated a fixed AED 10 withdrawal fee for eligible users. The cited OKX material does not state a comparable fixed amount, and the Kraken material does not establish a UAE AED withdrawal tariff. | Compare the displayed charge for the withdrawal method and account you will actually use. Binance’s AED 10 figure is a fiat cash-withdrawal charge, not a crypto withdrawal fee. |
| Spot order-book trade | OKX’s surfaced regular-user standard spot schedule listed 0.2000% maker and 0.3500% taker. Higher tiers depend on assets or 30-day volume; the page warns that fees may vary by region. Kraken says Kraken Pro rates vary by 30-day volume and maker/taker status, but the cited material does not establish a UAE-specific AED tariff. | Check the live UAE account tier and the exact pair. Compare the fee applicable to the order you place, not a rate from a different tier or region. |
| Instant buy, sell or convert | OKX explains that express routes use an all-in quoted price rather than separately itemizing maker/taker fees; the buy/sell quote difference is a spread. Kraken lists instant-buy charges as a separate category, without a UAE-specific amount in the cited material. | Inspect the final quote and the amount of crypto or AED you will receive. A displayed 0% pair fee does not establish that the execution price matches an estimate or an order-book price. |
| Crypto withdrawal | OKX says the receiving account is not charged a network fee for crypto deposits, while the party withdrawing pays a fee. Its withdrawal fee varies by asset and network and is shown on the withdrawal page. The cited sources do not provide comparable live withdrawal amounts for all three platforms. | Check the asset, network, fee, and destination address support immediately before sending. The destination must support the network you select. |
OKX’s published standard spot rates are a useful reference point, not a universal cost forecast: the page warns that regional rates can vary, and higher tiers depend on assets or 30-day volume. Kraken’s source names fee categories but does not give a UAE-specific AED schedule. Binance’s announced AED cash-funding terms do not establish its trading fee. For all three, use the live account and order preview rather than assuming one headline figure applies to every transaction.
For Kraken, keep the fee categories distinct even when the exact local price is unavailable. Its fee information lists charges tied to deposits and withdrawals set by providers, crypto withdrawals, card purchases, instant buys, and margin costs, alongside Kraken Pro’s volume- and maker/taker-based trading rates. A card purchase fee is not the same as a bank-transfer charge; a margin cost is not part of a cash deposit; and none of those categories supplies a UAE-specific AED figure by itself. The rate or charge relevant to you depends on the product and method you actually use.

Likewise, zero deposit fees do not mean a transaction is free from end to end. A bank or payment provider may have its own charge, a buy/sell quote can include a spread, a trade can incur a maker or taker fee, and cashing out or sending crypto has separate costs. Compare the amount you pay with the amount you ultimately receive, not just the fee label attached to one step.
Calculate the cost of the route you will actually use
- Check access first. Confirm that you can onboard to the relevant local entity and that the AED deposit, withdrawal, market, and product you need are enabled for your account.
- Identify the cash route. Note whether you are using a UAE bank transfer or another method. Record the platform charge shown and any separate charge your bank or provider discloses.
- Choose an execution method. For an order book, check the applicable maker or taker rate and your fee tier. For an instant-buy, sell, or convert route, compare the quoted amount with the amount you intend to spend or receive; the quote may include a spread.
- Include conversion costs. If you are not trading directly in AED, check whether a conversion or a market quoted in another currency adds a cost. The cited sources do not establish a single FX charge for all users.
- Price the cash withdrawal. Check the AED bank-withdrawal fee and route in your account. Treat Binance’s announced AED 10 amount as its stated eligible-user cash-withdrawal charge, not as a trading or network fee.
- If moving crypto off-platform, price that separately. Check the asset’s withdrawal fee and supported network on the sending platform, then confirm that the destination accepts that same network. Do not send until both sides match.
For a like-for-like comparison, evaluate the same intended transaction on each eligible account: same AED amount, asset, execution style, and final destination. A lower deposit charge can be outweighed by a wider instant quote, a different trade fee tier, or a withdrawal charge. The total depends on your route and account rather than on a single platform-wide percentage.
A simple way to do this is to write down the total AED you plan to spend, the net crypto or AED the preview says you will receive, and each additional charge that will apply if you later cash out or transfer the asset. Compare like with like: an instant-buy quote on one platform is not directly comparable to an order-book trade on another unless you account for both the trade fee and the execution price. If you expect to trade frequently, the volume-based tier may matter; for a one-off purchase, a better tier on paper may not be relevant to your actual account.
Regulatory status: compare the exact entity and service
Regulatory descriptions in company materials are not interchangeable. OKX describes its UAE service provider, OKX Middle East Fintech FZE, as VARA licensed and regulated. Binance’s cited UAE materials identify Binance FZE for eligible local users. Kraken’s May 21, 2026 post said Payward had preliminary VARA approval for proposed operations and conditioned its full service offer on final licensure.
These statements describe different entities and statuses. The materials cited here do not independently establish the current regulator-register entry or complete scope for each entity and product. Check the current regulator record for the specific contracting entity and service, rather than assuming that one platform’s license description covers every product or another entity in the same corporate group.

There is also a historical distinction worth keeping clear: an ADGM announcement from 2022 described Kraken offering direct AED deposits, trading, and withdrawals at that time. That is evidence about a past service and jurisdiction; it is not proof of current Dubai availability or current authorization. Kraken’s newer May 2026 announcement concerns preliminary VARA approval in Dubai and proposed services.
In its May 21, 2026 announcement, Payward and Kraken Co-CEO Arjun Sethi said: “Dubai wrote a rulebook for crypto before most jurisdictions even acknowledged the asset class.” That is the executive’s view, not an independent assessment of regulatory quality or a substitute for checking the relevant entity’s authorization and scope.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Crypto withdrawals: fees and operational checks
Withdrawing crypto to a personal wallet is a separate transaction from withdrawing AED to a bank. A crypto withdrawal fee is tied to the asset and network, and can change with network conditions. OKX says its withdrawal page shows the current fee; the cited information does not establish a fixed fee that can be applied to every asset or network.
- Confirm the destination wallet supports the asset and the exact network selected on the exchange.
- Read the withdrawal screen’s fee and minimum before confirming; do not assume the fee is the same across networks for an asset.
- Check the destination address carefully. A successful transaction sent on an unsupported network may not be recoverable.
- Use a small test transfer when appropriate for the amount and destination, accounting for any minimums and fees.
- Keep the transaction record and verify the arrival on the selected network before sending a larger amount.
OKX states that a crypto deposit to the receiving account does not incur a network fee for that recipient; this does not mean sending crypto out is free. The withdrawing party pays the withdrawal charge shown for that asset and network.
Before sending, check both sides of the transfer: the exchange’s withdrawal network and the wallet’s supported deposit network. Similar network names or compatible-looking addresses do not by themselves confirm that the destination can receive the asset. A test transfer can help verify the route, but it does not eliminate the need to check minimums, fees, and address details first.

What the available comparison does not settle
Fees, payment routes, eligibility, product access, and regulatory status can change. The information above is current through October 13, 2026, and reflects the cited official company materials, including OKX’s August 11 page update, Binance’s June 2 announcement, and Kraken’s May 21 announcement. It does not establish live account-specific limits, processing times, all-in quote spreads, or final Kraken UAE approval and launch. Check the platform’s current account screens and official notices before moving funds.
There is no defensible universal “lowest-fee” winner from these figures alone. OKX provides a stated standard spot rate but warns of regional variation; Binance gives an AED cash-funding figure but that does not include trading; Kraken’s cited fee page describes variable categories without a UAE-specific AED schedule. Your execution route, tier, bank method, and withdrawal destination determine the relevant comparison.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I deposit AED into Kraken in the UAE?
Kraken’s May 21, 2026 announcement described AED funding and withdrawals as part of proposed UAE services, contingent on final licensure. It does not establish that final approval or launch has occurred. Check Kraken’s current official notices and your account before relying on an AED bank route.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteWhich UAE crypto exchange has the lowest fees?
There is no universal winner established by the published figures. OKX’s surfaced standard spot schedule listed 0.2000% maker and 0.3500% taker, with higher tiers and regional variation. Binance announced zero AED deposit fees and an AED 10 cash-withdrawal fee for eligible users, but those are not trading rates. Kraken Pro fees vary by 30-day volume and maker/taker status. Compare your own route, tier, quote, and cash-out or crypto withdrawal costs.
Can I withdraw crypto to my own wallet?
The cited OKX information describes crypto withdrawals with fees that vary by asset and network, shown on the withdrawal page. Before sending from any exchange, confirm that your wallet supports the exact asset and network selected, review the fee and minimum, and check the address. Cash withdrawal to a bank is a separate process from sending crypto to a wallet.
Does Binance’s AED 10 charge cover every withdrawal?
No. Binance’s June 2, 2026 announcement identifies AED 10 as a cash withdrawal fee for eligible users using its UAE service. It is not a spot-trading fee or a crypto network withdrawal fee. Check your account for the current route and terms.
The Bottom Line
For clearly described AED bank rails, OKX and Binance currently have the more directly documented UAE offerings in the cited materials; Binance’s announcement specifies zero AED deposit fees and an AED 10 cash withdrawal charge for eligible users. Kraken’s May 2026 announcement described proposed services, not confirmed final licensure or launch. Compare your account’s actual access, trade quote and tier, payment route, and intended withdrawal before choosing—there is no single fee figure that settles the decision.
