The deal did not include Tango’s older PsychoBreak or Ghostwire: Tokyo catalog, according to KRAFTON’s announcement. In November 2025, KRAFTON also took over Hi-Fi RUSH publishing and service operations from Bethesda.
What did KRAFTON acquire?
KRAFTON said it acquired Tango Gameworks in cooperation with Xbox and ZeniMax, securing the studio and the Hi-Fi RUSH IP. The company said it would incorporate the studio and transfer its development staff into employment. Yonhap likewise described the transaction as covering the Tokyo-based studio, its developers and rights to Hi-Fi RUSH.
The announcement followed Microsoft’s May 2024 announcement that Tango would close. KRAFTON framed the acquisition as an investment in the Japanese game market and a way to expand its global presence; those were the company’s stated aims, not evidence of a particular commercial outcome. KRAFTON’s announcement and Yonhap’s report do not disclose the purchase price, valuation or detailed legal terms.
Did KRAFTON acquire The Evil Within or Ghostwire: Tokyo?
No. KRAFTON’s announcement said the existing PsychoBreak (known internationally as The Evil Within), PsychoBreak 2 and Ghostwire: Tokyo catalog would not be affected. The supported distinction is that KRAFTON acquired Tango Gameworks and the specifically identified Hi-Fi RUSH IP; the announcement does not say those older franchises transferred to KRAFTON.

What changed for Hi-Fi RUSH players?
Beginning November 14, 2025, Hi-Fi RUSH publishing and service operation transferred from Bethesda Softworks to KRAFTON. A patch to update in-game elements was scheduled for December 4, 2025. The transition notice said gameplay content would not change as a result of the transfer. Gematsu reproduced the transition notice and FAQ.
- Existing saves, progress, achievements, purchases and Steam DLC were to remain intact.
- Game Pass players could continue playing.
- The Bethesda.net connection feature was disabled; the notice recommended installing the December 4 update for smooth gameplay.
The notice listed digital availability on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC through Steam, Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store. It does not establish that a physical edition is available. KRAFTON’s official Hi-Fi RUSH site credits KRAFTON and Tango Gameworks and identifies the game as a KRAFTON trademark.
