The Koodo deals in the headline refer to select plans reported on February 11, 2025—not a verified offer available now. MobileSyrup said Koodo introduced $45 and $55 plans with bonus data after Fido changed its plans. Koodo’s current homepage advertises different terms, so check the carrier’s live offer details before making a decision.
What Koodo’s reported February 2025 offers included
MobileSyrup reported on February 11, 2025, that Koodo had introduced two select offers after Fido changed its plans. The outlet characterized the timing as Koodo copying Fido; that describes the reported competitive sequence, not a formal agreement or proof of direct copying.

These are MobileSyrup’s reported February 2025 offer terms, not current price quotes. The report said both plans used 4G data at speeds capped at up to 100Mbps and included unlimited Canada-wide calling and texting, standard calling features such as call display, voicemail and call waiting, and one free perk. Koodo had not provided an end date for the bonus-data promotion.
Are the bonus-data offers still available?
The available current information does not establish that either 2025 offer remains available. Koodo’s public homepage now advertises a different offer: 10GB with a free perk from $40 per month for bring-your-own-device customers. The homepage also displays a separate promotion with an October 30, 2026 end date; that is not the same as the reported 2025 bonus-data deal. See Koodo’s current homepage for its live terms.

Fido’s current public page describes Canada-wide 5G plans and select plans with US and Mexico roaming, and warns that offers can change without notice. It does not confirm that the Fido plans or Koodo bonus-data offers reported in 2025 are still available. See Fido’s current offers.
What the report does not establish
MobileSyrup called the plans select offers and said Koodo had not shared an end date. The report does not establish which provinces were eligible, who qualified, how customers had to activate, or how long an individual subscriber would keep the bonus data. No stated end date is not evidence that the bonus was permanent.

Koodo’s May 2026 service terms say data usage generally counts against a customer’s monthly allowance unless an offer says otherwise. They also say Koodo may change services, rates and agreement terms, with notice when required. The 2025 figures are not a sound basis for choosing between the carriers today. Compare the live offers on the same terms, and review the applicable offer details before switching:

- Monthly cost: Check the price after discounts and whether a discount requires automatic payment.
- Data: Separate the regular monthly allowance from promotional bonus data, and check whether bonus data expires.
- Network and speed: Confirm the network generation and any stated speed cap for the specific plan.
- Included services: Check calling, texting, roaming and perks rather than assuming they carry over from an older offer.
- Eligibility and availability: Verify province, customer and activation requirements, plus the offer’s end date.
The available public pages do not provide a complete, like-for-like current Koodo–Fido plan comparison. Koodo announced on May 29, 2026, that new customers with compatible devices on Pick Your Perk plans would get 5G speeds up to 1Gbps, and described selectable perks including roaming days, rollover data and premium voicemail. That announcement is current context, not evidence that the 2025 plans included 5G or those perks; “up to 1Gbps” is the carrier’s stated maximum, not a guaranteed experienced speed.
