Kevan Parekh became Apple’s chief financial officer on January 1, 2025, succeeding Luca Maestri in a planned transition announced by Apple on August 26, 2024. Parekh moved into the role from Apple’s finance leadership team; Maestri remained at the company to lead Corporate Services.
When did Kevan Parekh become Apple’s CFO?
Apple announced the succession on August 26, 2024. The company said Maestri would transition out of the CFO role effective January 1, 2025, when Parekh would take over and join Apple’s executive team. Apple’s announcement described a planned change in responsibilities, not Maestri’s departure from Apple.
Apple’s 2026 proxy statement describes the transition as completed, and its current leadership profile lists Parekh as CFO, reporting to CEO John Ternus.
Who is Kevan Parekh?
Parekh was an Apple finance executive before his promotion. At the time of the 2024 announcement, he had spent 11 years at Apple and led Financial Planning and Analysis, G&A and Benefits Finance, Investor Relations, and Market Research.

His Apple finance experience
Before leading those functions, Parekh oversaw finance for Worldwide Sales, Retail, and Marketing. Earlier in his Apple career, he supported Product Marketing, Internet Sales and Services, and Engineering. That experience spanned several major areas of Apple’s business before he became CFO.
Education and earlier career
Before joining Apple, Parekh held senior leadership roles at Thomson Reuters and General Motors, with global experience. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the University of Chicago. Apple’s 2024 announcement provides this career and education background.

What happened to Luca Maestri?
Maestri stopped serving as Apple’s CFO on January 1, 2025, but stayed with the company. He continued to lead Corporate Services, including information systems and technology, information security, and real estate and development, reporting to then-CEO Tim Cook, according to Apple’s transition announcement.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said in the 2024 announcement: “For more than a decade, Kevan has been an indispensable member of Apple’s finance leadership team, and he understands the company inside and out.”

Apple said that during Maestri’s tenure as CFO, the company’s revenue more than doubled and its Services revenue grew more than five times. The announcement did not specify the comparison years, starting values, or calculation method, so these are Apple’s characterizations rather than independently calculated figures.
