When did the KCET 2024 application window reopen?
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) reopened the UGCET/KCET 2024 registration portal on March 30, 2024. Careers360 reported that registration began at 11:00 a.m. Scroll’s March 29 report also said the portal would reopen that day and noted that the previous application deadline had been February 26.
What was the final reported deadline?
The reports gave different deadlines because they described different points in the announcement timeline:

Careers360’s account describes the later extension, so April 4 was the later reported closing date. The application cutoff and fee-payment cutoff were separate times. The KEA notice itself was not available for direct verification in the reporting reviewed here, so the dates above are attributed to the contemporaneous news reports.

What did the extension mean for exam centres and exam dates?
Careers360 reported that candidates who registered during the extended period would be assigned Bengaluru as their examination centre. It also reported that the UGCET/KCET 2024 examinations were scheduled for April 18 and 19, 2024. These are reported 2024 details, not dates or centre rules for a later exam cycle.
Why did KEA reopen registration?
Careers360 said KEA cited requests from students. The outlet quoted a statement it attributed to KEA’s notice: “For the benefit of the students, KEA has extended the dates several times to register and to apply for CET 2024 scheduled to be held on 18-04-2024 and 19-04-2024. But still some students are requesting to enable the portal for registration.” This is a quotation carried by Careers360, rather than a notice independently verified here.
