The revised Karnataka PGCET 2024 MBA and MCA exams were held on 4 August 2024. MCA was scheduled for 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. and MBA for 2:30–4:30 p.m. Eligible applicants who had registered, applied and paid could download admission tickets on or after 27 July 2024. These are historical dates; the 2024 exam cycle is complete.

Revised Karnataka PGCET 2024 dates and sessions

The original July schedule in the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) information bulletin was superseded. The revised schedule separated MBA and MCA into different sessions on 4 August 2024.

Course group Revised exam date and time Admission-ticket timing
MCA 4 August 2024, 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. On or after 27 July 2024, for applicants who registered, applied and paid (Hindustan Times, reporting KEA’s notice)
MBA 4 August 2024, 2:30–4:30 p.m. On or after 27 July 2024, for applicants who registered, applied and paid (Hindustan Times, reporting KEA’s notice)
M.E./M.Tech/M.Arch 18 September 2024, 2:30–4:30 p.m. On or before 11 September 2024, according to contemporaneous reporting (The Times of India)

The M.E./M.Tech/M.Arch date was a separate later revision, not an extension of the MBA and MCA schedule. The September date and ticket timing are attributed here to contemporaneous reporting; the linked KEA notice was not available for direct inspection.

What changed from KEA’s original timetable

KEA’s May 2024 bulletin initially listed M.E./M.Tech/M.Arch for 13 July 2024 and MCA and MBA for 14 July 2024. It also warned that the schedule could change. Contemporary coverage said the MBA/MCA exams were postponed to avoid clashes with final-semester university exams at some institutions and then rescheduled for 4 August. The Indian Express described the clash rationale; Hindustan Times quoted KEA’s notice saying the postponement was in students’ interests. The initial July dates should not be mistaken for the final schedule.

KEA’s bulletin said, “Any change in schedule will be notified on the http://kea.kar.nic.in” and advised candidates to visit its website regularly because individual intimation would not be sent. The KEA PGCET-2024 information bulletin is the source for the original schedule and that guidance.

What the exam covered

The KEA bulletin describes PGCET-2024 as an entrance examination for first-year/first-semester MBA, MCA, M.E., M.Tech and M.Arch courses for Karnataka and non-Karnataka candidates, conducted at specified places across Karnataka. Its format lists 100 questions for 100 marks for each paper. Contemporary MBA/MCA coverage likewise reported 100 questions and 100 marks.

For MBA and MCA, The Indian Express summarized areas including general knowledge, analytical ability and logical reasoning, computer awareness, quantitative analysis, and English language. Treat that as a reported overview rather than a substitute for the course-specific requirements in KEA’s bulletin and syllabus.

Dates for current applicants

The 2024 dates and ticket window have passed. Anyone applying for a later PGCET cycle should use current KEA announcements rather than reuse the 2024 timetable or look for a stale 2024 admission-ticket link. KEA’s bulletin directs candidates to its website for schedule changes; it also says individual notices will not be sent.
