JTX vs. Solana Perpetuals Platforms: What’s Known About Fees, Liquidity, and Features in 2026

JTX currently documents a self-custodial spot interface, not a verified live perpetuals market. This evidence-based comparison explains the known fees, liquidity limits and feature differences versus Drift and Jupiter, and why Zeta’s historical prices are no longer current.

JTX cannot yet be compared reliably with live Solana perpetuals venues on fees or liquidity. As of October 13, 2026, JTX’s official homepage places “Perpetual Futures” in a separate “Next” section, while its explainer and surfaced app document spot trading. That evidence does not establish that JTX perpetual futures are available to trade. JTX does document a self-custodial Solana interface, market and resting-limit orders, Smart Fill, and a variable platform fee, but those facts describe its documented spot experience rather than a verified perps market.

Drift’s official documentation identifies SOL-PERP, BTC-PERP, ETH-PERP, and HYPE-PERP markets and explains keeper incentives. Jupiter’s official support hub identifies a Perps & JLP area. Neither source set supplies a current, directly comparable fee schedule and liquidity dataset for this comparison. Zeta Markets is not a live alternative: its own specification page says the venue ceased operating in May 2025.

The evidence-based answer

A conventional “which platform is cheapest or most liquid?” ranking would overstate what is currently documented. JTX’s perps status is unverified, and the available official material does not provide a like-for-like JTX-versus-Drift-versus-Jupiter fee table or liquidity measurement.

  • JTX product status: Spot trading, pro orders and receipts are presented as current surfaces; perpetual futures appear under “Next.”
  • JTX fees: A platform fee applies to filled transactions, with network and third-party protocol charges separate. JTX directs users to the order-ticket estimate for the specific transaction.
  • JTX liquidity: Its documentation says fills depend on available liquidity and market conditions, but it does not publish a comparable current perps depth, volume or open-interest figure.
  • Drift: Official documentation lists four perpetual markets and market-specific margin ratios. The keeper page describes incentives funded from taker fees, not a complete current trader fee schedule.
  • Jupiter Perps: The official support hub identifies a Perps & JLP product area, but the reviewed page does not expose a dated, comparable fee schedule or liquidity statistic.
  • Zeta Markets: Its specifications state that it ceased operating in May 2025. Its preserved maker and taker figures are historical, not current prices.

The practical conclusion is to treat JTX as a documented spot interface until its user-facing app, underlying perpetuals venue and perps-specific costs are clearly confirmed.

Is JTX perpetual futures trading live?

What the homepage shows

JTX’s homepage presents spot trading, pro orders and receipts as available surfaces. Perpetual futures are placed in a separate section headed “More markets, more surfaces,” followed by “Next.” “Next” can indicate a planned or developing feature; it is not evidence that contracts can currently be opened, margined or liquidated.

What the explainer and app document

JTX’s public explainer describes spot transactions. The surfaced application shows spot trading controls rather than a verified perpetuals order ticket with leverage, margin, funding, liquidation or contract specifications. The August 5, 2026 terms also say that features may be in development or “coming soon.” Together, those materials do not establish a live JTX perps product.

What must be confirmed before calling JTX a perps venue

  1. Open the current JTX application and identify a perpetuals market that can actually be selected.
  2. Confirm that the ticket displays perps-specific fields such as leverage or margin, contract size, mark or oracle price, funding and liquidation terms.
  3. Identify the protocol or venue that holds the market, matches orders and handles settlement.
  4. Check whether the displayed fee includes JTX’s interface charge, protocol trading fee, network or priority fee, and any funding or borrow cost.
  5. Verify that an order can be submitted and that the terms explain partial fills, liquidation and position closure.

Until those checks are satisfied, a JTX-perps fee or liquidity comparison is not substantiated.

What JTX currently documents

Self-custody and transaction routing

JTX describes itself as a self-custodial Solana trading interface rather than an exchange or custodian. Users control their wallets, and JTX says it does not hold private keys. Transactions execute on Solana and through third-party protocols. Some open-order paths can move tokens into a program-owned on-chain account for the duration of the order; that does not mean JTX has custody of a user’s private keys.

JTX says some transaction paths may use Jito’s Block Engine or Block Assembly Marketplace. It also says that this does not mean every transaction follows the same route or that JTX controls Solana’s ordering layer. Routing can therefore affect execution costs and timing without creating a uniform fee or liquidity profile for every order.

Launch and documented order types

JTX’s official explainer gives July 21, 2026 as its public launch date. It documents:

  • Market orders: submitted for immediate execution subject to available liquidity and prevailing conditions.
  • Resting limit orders: supported orders that rest in an on-chain book until matched or cancelled.
  • Smart Fill: a large order is divided into smaller slices intended to manage execution.

JTX’s terms disclaim guaranteed fills, prices and execution times. Smart Fill is not guaranteed to reduce price impact or total cost; slices can fail, fill partially or cost more than one transaction. These are meaningful execution features, but they do not demonstrate perpetuals functionality.

JTX’s fee model

JTX says it charges a platform fee on filled transactions. Network costs and third-party protocol charges are separate. The amount can vary by asset and order type, so JTX’s order ticket is the appropriate source for a user-specific estimate. A static spot estimate should not be presented as a perps trading rate.

Referral claim

JTX’s homepage advertises a referral reward of 20% of referred traders’ fees for as long as they trade. This is a published program claim, not a liquidity or performance statistic. Eligibility, geography, timing and other terms should be checked before relying on it; it does not establish that a referred trader pays lower fees.

Fees: why a direct ranking is not available

What a fair comparison must include

“Fees” can mean several different amounts. A useful comparison should keep each one separate:

Comparing JTX’s platform fee on a filled spot transaction with a competitor’s perps maker or taker rate would combine different products and cost components. It could make either venue look artificially cheap.

What the reviewed official material establishes

Venue Current fee evidence What cannot be concluded
JTX Variable platform fee on filled transactions; network and third-party costs are separate; the order ticket provides the transaction estimate. No current JTX perpetuals fee schedule or perps-specific rate is established.
Drift Keeper documentation says keepers receive a portion of taker fees for matching orders; liquidation rewards vary by market. The cited material is not a complete current trader fee schedule and does not support a lowest-fee ranking.
Jupiter Perps The official support hub identifies a Perps & JLP area. The reviewed official page does not provide a dated, comparable fee schedule.
Zeta Markets Historical specifications preserve a 0.10% taker fee and 0.02% maker fee. The venue’s page says it ceased operating in May 2025, so these are not current competitor prices.

How to check your real cost before trading

  1. Define the product: record whether you are comparing JTX spot, a perpetual contract, or another instrument.
  2. Record the market and notional: fees and slippage can vary by SOL, BTC, ETH, HYPE or another contract and by order size.
  3. Classify the order: maker, taker, market, resting limit, reduce-only and liquidation transactions may be treated differently.
  4. Read the ticket: on JTX, use the displayed estimate for that transaction instead of a general percentage.
  5. Add non-trading costs: include network, priority, protocol, funding and any keeper or liquidation amount shown by the venue.
  6. Save the date and assumptions: fee schedules change, and a comparison without retrieval date, notional and market is not reproducible.

Liquidity and execution quality

Liquidity is not one number

Market depth, pool size, open interest, traded volume and realized slippage measure different things. A venue can show substantial volume while offering limited depth at the exact price and size you need. Conversely, a large pool does not guarantee a good fill during a volatile moment.

A defensible cross-venue comparison should state the same measure, market, time and distance from the mid-price—for example, depth within a specified percentage of mid, dated volume, open interest or the simulated slippage on a stated notional.

What is documented for JTX

JTX says execution depends on available liquidity and market conditions. Its “Good Trade” comparisons, where displayed, are estimates based on limited-depth sampled data from a single reference venue at a particular moment. JTX’s terms say these are not actual trades on the reference venue and are not a best-execution guarantee.

That qualification matters: a favorable estimate on one screen is not a measured liquidity ranking, and it does not prove that JTX would outperform an active perps venue for a different asset, size or time.

What is documented for Drift and Jupiter

The reviewed official Drift and Jupiter pages identify products and mechanics but do not provide a common, current liquidity statistic that can be placed beside a JTX perps number. There is therefore no supported basis here to call any of the venues “deepest,” “most liquid” or “best for large orders.”

A practical liquidity test

  1. Choose one contract, such as SOL perpetuals, and one notional amount.
  2. Capture the displayed bid, ask and depth at the same UTC time.
  3. Calculate expected average execution price and slippage for both a market buy and market sell.
  4. Record open interest and recent volume only if the venues define those metrics consistently.
  5. Repeat during normal and volatile conditions; one snapshot can be misleading.
  6. Include failed, partial or reverted transactions in the operational assessment.

Feature comparison by product scope

Feature JTX documentation Drift documentation Jupiter documentation
Verified perpetuals availability Not established; perpetual futures are presented under “Next.” Official margin page lists SOL-PERP, BTC-PERP, ETH-PERP and HYPE-PERP. Official support hub identifies a Perps & JLP area; the reviewed material does not document every current market or execution feature.
Spot or interface order types Market orders, resting limit orders and Smart Fill are documented for the interface. Perps and margin documentation is available; the reviewed pages are not a full order-type inventory. Perps product area is identified; a comparable order-type inventory was not established.
Self-custody model Users control wallets; JTX says it does not hold private keys. Not established by the cited pages. Not established by the cited pages.
Execution guarantees None. Fills, prices and timing are not guaranteed; Smart Fill can be partial or more expensive. Not established by the cited pages. Not established by the cited pages.
Margin information No JTX perps margin schedule established. Market-specific initial and maintenance margin ratios are listed on the official margin page. Not stated in the reviewed support page.

JTX’s Smart Fill is an execution aid, not a guarantee

Smart Fill breaks a large order into a sequence of smaller orders. That can change the trade-off between price impact, transaction count and execution time. JTX expressly warns that individual slices may fail or fill only partially, and that the total can cost more than a single transaction. It should be evaluated as an option with uncertainty, not as proof of superior liquidity.

Perps-specific features require separate confirmation

Perpetuals normally require clearly disclosed position, margin, funding and liquidation mechanics. The JTX material reviewed here does not establish those mechanics for a live JTX product. Drift’s documentation does establish named markets and market-specific initial and maintenance margin ratios. Jupiter’s support hub establishes a product area, but the cited page is not sufficient to make a feature-for-feature claim against Drift or JTX.

How to choose among the documented options

If you need a verified perpetuals market now

Start with a venue whose official documentation identifies the contract and current margin mechanics, then verify the live interface and current fee disclosure before depositing funds. Drift’s cited documentation meets that limited documentation test for the four named markets. This does not make Drift automatically cheapest or most liquid; those conclusions still require dated measurements.

If you want JTX’s documented interface

Use JTX as a self-custodial spot interface only after reviewing the transaction ticket, routing details and order-specific estimate. Confirm what happens to assets while a resting order is open, understand that execution is not guaranteed, and treat Smart Fill as optional rather than protective.

If you are considering Jupiter Perps

Use the official Perps & JLP documentation and current application to confirm supported contracts, fees, funding, margin and liquidation rules. The existence of a support-hub category alone is not enough to establish a numerical fee or liquidity advantage.

Do not select Zeta as a current venue

Zeta Markets’ own specification page says it ceased operating as of May 2025. Its preserved 0.10% taker and 0.02% maker figures may explain older articles, but they should not be used as a live price comparison.

Operational and risk checks

  • Wallet security: Self-custody means the user controls the signing keys and is responsible for wallet security, transaction approval and recovery.
  • Order-state risk: A resting order can involve an on-chain program account for the order’s duration. Read the current transaction and cancellation behavior before committing funds.
  • Execution risk: Market conditions, available liquidity, failed slices and network conditions can change the final result.
  • Perps risk: Before opening a leveraged position, confirm initial and maintenance margin, funding, liquidation triggers, oracle or mark-price rules and the process for closing.
  • Cost risk: A displayed platform fee may not include network, protocol, priority, funding or liquidation-related amounts.
  • Marketing claims: Statements such as “better slippage” are company marketing claims unless supported by a dated, reproducible methodology.

What a future JTX-versus-perps comparison should publish

A useful update should make every number reproducible. For fees, record the retrieval date, market, order size, maker or taker status, funding or borrow assumptions, network and protocol charges, discounts and geographic or product eligibility. For liquidity, use the same source and metric across venues—such as depth at a stated distance from mid, open interest or dated volume—and identify the exact observation time. For features, label each item as spot or perpetuals and confirm that it is available in the current user-facing app.

The key update trigger is a verifiable JTX perps launch: a selectable contract, disclosed underlying protocol, live margin and liquidation terms, and an order ticket that shows the complete cost. Until then, JTX should not be ranked against active Solana perpetuals platforms on fees or liquidity.
