The application window for the Jharkhand Constable Competitive Examination-2023 (JCCE-2023) closed on 21 February 2024, and the reported fee-payment deadline was 23 February 2024. The word “today” in the original alert referred to Scroll’s publication date, 21 February 2024—not to a current deadline. As of 8 October 2026, this is a historical notice, not an open application opportunity.
Which exam and deadline did the alert refer to?
Scroll’s report of 21 February 2024 identified the recruitment examination as JCCE-2023, even though the application news appeared in 2024. It reported that applications for regular and backlog constable vacancies would close that day at 11:59 p.m., with examination-fee payment accepted through 23 February 2024, up to midnight. Scroll’s dated report is the basis for those extended deadlines.
The initial schedule was different: Careers360 reported that applications opened on 15 January 2024 and were due by 14 February, with fee payment through 16 February, photo and signature uploads through 18 February, and a correction window from 20 to 22 February. The later Scroll report indicates that the application deadline was extended to 21 February and fee payment to 23 February. Careers360’s initial schedule report documents the earlier dates.
Why do published vacancy totals differ?
News reports did not give a consistent vacancy count. Careers360 and Jagran Josh each reported 4,919 posts during the initial application period; Scroll reported 4,929 vacancies on 21 February. These are figures attributed to those outlets, not a verified final official total. The original JSSC brochure was not available to confirm which count, if either, was definitive.
#1 Best Overall
| Report | Reported vacancies | Context |
|---|---|---|
| Careers360, 2024 | 4,919 | Initial application schedule |
| Jagran Josh, 2024 | 4,919 | Initial application schedule |
| Scroll.in, 21 February 2024 | 4,929 | Report on the extended deadline |
Jagran Josh’s report is another source for the initial schedule and 4,919 figure. Do not treat the later, higher count as confirmed or final without an official notice.
What were the reported application steps and fees?
For the historical application window, Scroll described this sequence: visit the official JSSC website, open “Application Forms (Apply),” choose the JCCE 2023 application, complete the form and upload documents, pay the fee, submit the application, and save or print a copy. Because that window has closed, these steps do not enable a new application now.

Scroll reported a ₹100 examination fee and a ₹50 fee for SC/ST candidates from Jharkhand. Jagran Josh likewise reported ₹100 for general and out-of-state candidates and ₹50 for Jharkhand SC/ST applicants. These are historical reported amounts, not current payment instructions.

The available reports describe a written examination and physical tests, but they do not establish the full official selection procedure or its detailed requirements. They are not sufficient to confirm post-wise eligibility, physical standards, syllabus, or the current status of any recruitment process. For those details, readers need the applicable JSSC notification or current information from the commission; do not infer them from this past deadline alert.
