JPSC’s 2024 recruitment for 78 Assistant Conservator of Forest posts is no longer accepting applications. The preliminary-test result was published on 9 December 2025, but the current next-stage schedule cannot be confirmed from the available official notices. Use the JPSC website and its recruitment archive for the latest notice rather than relying on the old application link or tentative exam calendar.
Are applications still open?
No. The application window for Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) Advertisement No. 03/2024 has closed. Scroll reported on 31 July 2024 that applications for 78 posts were open until 10 August 2024; a later report said JPSC extended the deadline to 30 August 2024. Both dates are historical, and neither is a current opportunity to apply. See the 31 July report and 30 August update.
The recruitment should not be confused with JPSC’s separate Forest Range Officer recruitment. For the official advertisement, syllabus and later notices, start at the JPSC recruitment archive and locate Advt. No. 03/2024.
What were the reported eligibility rules and fee?
Contemporaneous Scroll reports summarized the 2024 criteria as follows. These are historical secondary-source details; the official advertisement governs eligibility, category relaxations and any application determination.
#1 Best Overall
- Age: 21–35 years as of 1 August 2024, with upper-age relaxation for reserved categories. The applicable category-specific rules should be checked in the official advertisement.
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in one of the specified subjects, including agriculture, forestry and sciences, or a specified degree in civil, mechanical or chemical engineering. The exact subject list and wording are in the official notification.
- Reported fee: ₹600 for General, EBC, BC and EWS applicants, and ₹150 for SC/ST applicants. These were fees reported for the 2024 application and are not current payment instructions.
The reports provide a summary rather than a substitute for the advertisement. Applicants assessing past eligibility should consult the official notice for the complete subject list and category provisions.
What happened after the preliminary test?
JPSC published an Assistant Conservator of Forest preliminary-test result dated 9 December 2025 for Advertisement No. 03/2024. The result document is available through the official JPSC site.
Rank #2
JPSC’s calendar dated 6 January 2026 tentatively placed the main examination on 4–7 April 2026 and stated that dates could change. That calendar is a planned schedule, not evidence that the examination took place on those dates. JPSC’s archive also lists later Assistant Conservator notices dated 14 July and 10 August 2026. Because the notice contents are not established here, the current selection stage and any next date remain unconfirmed; check the notices directly in the official archive before making travel or preparation plans.
