Jomari Goyso Says Social Media Out-Earns His Univision Job: What He Actually Said

Jomari Goyso says his social-media work earns more than his Univision job and is paying half of his house. Here is what he actually said in the 2025 interview, and what it does not prove.

Univision host Jomari Goyso told People en Español that he earns more money from his social-media work than from his job at the network, and that this income is paying for half of a house he was building. The interview, updated June 26, 2025, gives his own comparison and no figures to check it against. Here is what he said, what the report does and does not establish, and what a personal-finance reader can reasonably take from it.

What Goyso said about his income

In the People en Español interview by Teresa Aranguez, Univision colleague Carolina Rosario asked him, “Además de Univision, ¿qué otros negocios tienes?” (“Besides Univision, what other businesses do you have?”). Goyso named two: his social networks and his company. He described both as going well.

He then made the comparison that drew the headline. The article attributes this sentence to him:

  • “Yo gano más dinero en las redes sociales que lo que gano en el trabajo de Univision.” (“I earn more money on social networks than what I earn from my Univision job.”)
  • “Gano mucho más. La casa que me estoy haciendo ahora, la mitad está pagada con lo de redes sociales.” (“I earn a lot more. The house I am building right now, half of it is paid for with the social-media money.”)

What the report does not show

The interview contains no dollar amounts. It gives no salary figure for his Univision work, no social-media earnings total, no revenue for his company, and no breakdown by platform. It also does not state the total cost of the house or how far along construction was. The only numeric detail is his own statement that social-media income covers half of that house, and it is not a verified number.

That matters for how the claim should be read. These are statements made in an interview and reported by the publication. Nothing in the article is an independently checked financial disclosure, and it should not be treated as a current figure. The report is dated June 26, 2025, and a creator’s income can change quickly with audience size, platform rules, and brand deals.

The time trade-off he described

Goyso also discussed what the extra income costs him. He said: “Yo soy el que más dinero tiene en mi familia, pero soy el que menos tiempo de calidad tiene.” (“I am the one who has the most money in my family, but the one who has the least quality time.”) He said he was happy doing work he enjoys and that he tries to deliver it with quality, while acknowledging the time and effort the work takes.

This is his personal reflection, not a measured outcome. The article does not show how many hours he works, how his schedule is split between the two jobs, or how his family sees the arrangement.

What he credited for his social-media work

When describing his approach, Goyso pointed to making videos that are different, interesting, and attractive to audiences. He emphasized “constancia, perseverancia y conocimientos” (consistency, perseverance, and knowledge). These are his explanations of his own results. The article does not test them, and they should not be read as a proven formula for building creator income.

How to read this as a personal-finance story

The useful lesson is not that a particular creator will out-earn a salaried job. It is the structure of the arrangement. Goyso has a stable employer and a second income stream he runs himself through social networks and a company. Several points follow from his own account:

  • Income sources are separate. He treats his network income and his salary as two streams, which makes it easier to see which one is funding a specific goal, such as a house.
  • Earnings are variable. Social-media income depends on audience and platform conditions that can shift, so a comparison from one moment may not hold later.
  • Time is a cost. He names time with family as the price of the extra money. Any side income should be measured against the hours it takes, not just the gross amount.
  • Self-reported claims need checking. Before using a creator’s income as a benchmark for your own plans, look for documented figures such as tax filings, company statements, or audited revenue. None are published in this interview.

The bottom line for readers

Goyso’s comments are an interesting example of a second income stream, and his reported comparison is clear: social-media work pays more than his Univision job, and it is funding part of a home. But the interview is his own account, dated June 26, 2025, and it provides no amounts, dates, or records to verify it. Treat it as a personal anecdote rather than a benchmark.
