Scroll reported an October 23, 2025 application deadline on October 22, but an official East Khasi Hills District Administration archive later lists October 26, 2025 as the extended deadline. That historical deadline has passed.
What was the final application deadline?
The deadline recorded in the East Khasi Hills District Administration’s archive for the 2026–27 Class IX and XI applications is October 26, 2025. The archive lists extensions to October 7, October 21, and then October 26. Its entries are available in the district administration’s past announcements archive.
Scroll’s October 22, 2025 article reported October 23 as the last date to register. That was the date reported at the time, not the final deadline reflected in the later archive. The archived NVS registration pages could not be opened, and the notice underlying Scroll’s October 23 update was not independently recovered; the district archive establishes the later October 26 extension, but not the exact timing or sequence of the intermediate October 23 update.
Which exam and admission session did the notice cover?
It concerned the Class IX and XI Lateral Entry Selection Test 2026, for admission in the 2026–27 session. It was not the earlier LEST 2025 cycle for the 2025–26 session, and it is not the current 2027–28 cycle.
Scroll reported that the correction window was scheduled for October 24–26, 2025, and gave February 7, 2026 as the exam date. Those are dates from its October 22 report; the later district archive entry cited above confirms the application extension, not those other schedule details. Dates from neighboring admission cycles do not change the 2026–27 deadline. Careers360’s November 2024 report concerned LEST 2025 for the 2025–26 session: it said registration was extended to November 19, 2024, and the test would be held February 8, 2025. That is a separate cycle, as described in its NVS Admission 2025 report.

Likewise, NVS portal search results for the later 2027–28 cycle list separate Class IX and XI application portals and an extended October 15, 2026 deadline. That later date does not reopen the 2025 application window. Applicants should use the relevant class and session when checking current notices on the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti website.
